Striborg's next full length album, "Nefaria / A Tragic Journey Towards the Light" will be released December 13th on
Displeased. Displeased are taking up
preorders now. Quote from Finsternis newsletter:
Nefaria was recorded in May as the last analogue recording and comprises of 7 tracks/42 minutes of material and the sound is comparable to Spiritual Catharsis with the style progressing even further than Embittered Darkness but incorporates all previous styles into one album with a more organic feel.
Misanthropic Isolation has been reissued on
Asgard Musik, and is available now. Quote from Asgard:
The final release in October is that of Striborg. "Misanthropic Isolation" will once again be available on cd, this time with 6 bonus tracks taken from the "Roaming The Forest". All the original MI tracks have been remastered and with new layout.
Quote from Finsternis newsletter:
MI has new improved sound levels and a replaced version of Dawn of Winter. Roaming the forests has the 6 best tracks from the 10 years CDR + a rehearsal track from Trepidation!
Next up on/via Asgard is a reissue of Striborg's "In The Heart Of The Rainforest" (slated for January) as well as a Veil of Darkness CD. Quote from a mail from Asgard:
In about a month there will also be the cd release of all the Veil Of Darkness material, this is Sin Nanna's dark ambient project, and this will be out on his own label, Finsternis Prod (I will have some copies for stock).
Then there is the Xasthur/Striborg split that's still to come:
Striborg track recorded in April and probably the best short Striborg track ever – you'll hear!
Interestingly, Sin Nanna seems to be abandoning analogue equipment after "Nefaria". The next (after Nefaria) album "Gostwoodlands" will be out early or mid 2007 on CD and LP.
Recorded in Sep/Oct on Cbase LE and has by far the greatest production for Striborg. This album comprises of 7 tracks/50 Minutes of dark droning and depressing anti-socialist black gloom metal, the best-written and rehearsed album with a truly mesmerizing bleak atmosphere. Buzzing cold guitars, heavy storming bass, eerie keyboards, terrifying vocals and a punching drum sound quality!
Finally, I found a perfectly describing comment over at the guestbook of the
Striborg Fan Page:
I just got out of rehab, and I just a copy of Cold Winter Moon, and it's fuckin' wicked man, makes me wanna smoke some grass and throw a brick through a computer shop window.
