NoteMe

Working on the desktop team:

,

I can't believe I have not had time to write about my experience at Opera so far before now, but here we go.

There has been so many new things in my life recently. From suddenly ditching all my plans about going to Copenhagen, to suddenly move into Oslo and start working for Opera's desktop team. It has all been good changes though, don't get me wrong, but it has taken most of my energy and time away from other things. Even decorating the new apartment has been going really slow. I still have 3-4 boxes in the living room, and I didn't get all the curtains up before a couple of weeks ago. But I am getting there, nice and slow, but definitely getting there.

When it comes to my new job here on the desktop team, I can't say how much I love being challenged like I do here every day. I get to use so many different skills, even more skills than I had thought before starting. There is always something more to learn, and I wouldn't have it any other way really. And if I get stuck, there is always someone to help me out no matter what my problem might be, so I am never stuck for too long.
One thing I didn't know about before starting here, but I really like is the "Friday after work get together" we have at Opera. A lot of well known MyOpera faces as well as a bunch of other Opera employees I had never seen before meet in the canteen as a end of the week social event. It is a great way to end the week, and it is even better if we manage to get out a decent Friday snapshot in time as well. I can't believe how much I appreciate this Friday happening. I have worked at companies before where I after a year still didn't know more than a few names from other departments. Here at Opera, it has been a breeze so far to get to know new friends and make connections to other departments.

One thing that has been twisting my brain though is what will happen to this blog now. I hope to just continue to write about things that interest me like I have always done, and hope people will notice the disclaimer I wrote, but I have a feeling that is too much to ask. Then again, maybe I should just write about what I am working on here at Opera. No, I guess that would just spoil the fun for all of you who are waiting now wouldn't it...

Congrats on the job! It really is important to feel good and challenged - otherwise it's boring, and boring is not good.

Perhaps you should delve into 'noteme'.
If contemplating what to do here...seems a good place to start.
