When the sun is shining [on me]:

, , ,

The sun is back in my life for sure this time. I came home late on Friday from work, and what did I see, a big envelope to me from Opera. Could it be? Sure it was...

When I became the Member of the week here at MyOpera, I became some happy (or cocky?!?) that I made a Magazine cover for a Magazine I called "My Opera Magazine" and put myself on the cover with cheesy Web 2.0 titles all over it. As I am still no designer nor have any intention of becoming one, it looked rather hideous, but I liked the funny nerd jokes I wrote as article titles on the front. Now a few weeks later Opera have actually released a magazine just like this. Except they added quite a few pages of interesting articles, but also they had a man on the front page with a cellphone as well as funny nerd jokes. Someone at Opera must have the same humor as me it seems. But I have to say their magazine beats me hands down when it comes to how professional it looks.

You can get a hold of their magazine as a .pdf for free, but they also had a limited amount of paper versions to give out. I always say I will try to attend these contests, but I seldom get the time to do so, but when all they asked for was to fill out a form to be considered, I didn't have to be asked twice to do so. It should be said I seldom win anything. Not while playing cards, or question games, nor in any Lottery, so I can tell you I was quite surprised when I came back home for quick stop on Friday to change clothes and found an envelope with my name on it from Opera. You guessed it, I got my own copy of the first edition of the Opera Magazine. I haven't had time to read in it yet, I just ran out to take a photo as proof and when I have posted this, I'm going out and will stay there the rest of the afternoon. The sun is shining on me both from above and in real life these days.

"Thank you Opera for giving me a paper version. I hope you are already working on the next issue"

You're really deserved to have a printed version! Congrats!

I think everyone MyOpera'man wants to have a #1 issue of MyOpera magasine in print. Do they sell it? Can I buy it?

Don't convert jpg file to png format. Size of me-reading-the-opera-magazine.png is 598 KB and it is reduced to 53.6 KB when converted to jpg.

AFAIK there was only a limited amount of paper magazines. But from the interview with the designer, it looks like you might get a new chance in a few months.

My bad. I did it on the command line like I do with all the screenshots, and they don't look good in JPG. Will remember next time

Hehe thanks. Although I am no designer though. And at least no Opera designer. They have skills I could just dream about. I stick to what I do the best, coding
