This is a rumor, because some "Anonymous" mystery person posting in 4chan forums "leaked" some of the documents involving designs, character lists, descriptions, and even game-title "Smash Brothers Universe". We all know what it means to have someone in a forum say they have information and then release something like this, it doesn't mean squat until it's confirmed by Sakurai.
That being said let's jump into discussion at the supposed information, by reading more about who is in the game and what they can do past the break...
This is just a teaser image Hideo Kojima Tweeted of the device which will be a limited edition system bundled with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater... in Japan. No word yet on if this bundle is going to be available in other regions.
Just add that to the incredible list of special edition 3DS units Japan gets, that no one else does. But hey! North America has confirmed a new PINK one, so now you can get one to match your volleyball shorts, sun-glasses, and Mary-Kay Mercades Benz. (source)
As you may have been aware, Iwata-san held another Nintendo Direct to showcase upcoming content to consumers at 12PM Japan time today (or 10PM EST yesterday, depending on your timezone). Although much of the context was hidden behind a rather forceful language barrier, I've taken the liberty of transcribing the video's contents as best as possible and have compiled a list of content that Nippon gamers and importers alike can expect in Q1 2012 for their gaming pleasure:
I really really hope that everyone who has a 3DS downloaded the free 3DS application Swapnote. It's super friggin' fun to send and receive notes from your pals, and even draw drawings for yourself just to watch them animate! Go get it in the 3DS eShop if you haven't already.
If you are like me then you found the "instructor" Nikki adorable, and wished that her little face would show up in more of your games where Miis make appearances, then you can smile a little brighter now, knowing that I created her Mii and uploaded her QR code for importing into your system. Just read more... past the post break for the QR code.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from one waffle to the hearts of many.
Stay in touch with friends near and far. Create messages, share jokes, pictures, secrets and more with SwapNote, a new remedy for Nintendo's previous lack of Pictochat support for 3DS. This free application lets you share messages not only with one "room" full of participants, but with anyone on your friends list via SpotPass or Streetpass.
The best part is that you choose with whom you share what, with a solid set of privacy features and enough tutorials to teach you everything from the basics to additional features. The more you play with SwapNote and create messages to share with others, the more features you will unlock. Pictures, audio clips, and 3D text and imaging let you create eye-popping content that can wow or amuse your recipients, so get started by downloading this free application from the Nintendo eShop.
And don't forget to check out the latest eShop games, like Mighty Switch Force while you're at it.
You need to click "Like", you need to retweet. And if you join us, then that would be neat! There's a waffle wearing...a HAAAAAATTT!!! ↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑
Enplusser Benster has been collecting Monster Hunter TriG screens and compiling them all into very convenient themed video slide-shows. This one shows off some of the larger and more rare monsters you can hunt in the game. Check out his Youtube page for more monster hunting. Thanks Ben!
Dear Nintendo America, GIVE ME THIS. Nintendo Japan, to close out the 25th anniversary year of The Legend of Zelda, is selling for 3,255 Yen (about $42 USD) this wicked-crazy, heavy-duty, art book filled with concepts, sketches and info. The info is rumored to contain the official time-line of the games, and the history of Hyrule. The Japanese fans can get this baby on December 21st. The rest of us better have good Japanese friends. I TOLD you they exist! patches for Wii games I mean. The world didn't think they were real, but I knew all along, mwahahahaha! For those of you who accidentally got stuck because of the Skyward Sword glitch, fret not, Nintendo will be (I swear this is their own words) "releasing a program that will repair save data for those who have their Wii connected to the Internet." - this means "patch". If you are someone who has a Wii console not connected to the internet, they got you covered too, you can simply "send your save data to Nintendo".
Please read more for the complete support details like, who to call, where to send files to, and when the *ahem* "program" will be ready for "repairing" your files, or how you can avoid getting stuck altogether...
The rumors were true (and rather timely, in my opinion). The 10 free GameBoy Advance titles are now available for download in the United States. Some owners report being unable to access the content at this time, so if it happens to you then you may have to be patient. It would likely be caused by the company's servers in your region. Just try, try again and you'll eventually get what you're after. For those of you who aren't able to get the titles at this time (or who are not Ambassadors and what to know what you're missing), here is the list in order as they appear to me:
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Wario Land 4
Yoshi's Island: Super mario Advance 3
Metroid Fusion
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
Mario vs Donkey Kong
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
For those of you who don't know how to access the Ambassador titles, you simply access the eShop and navigate to the left-most menu item, "Settings/Other". From there, click "Your Downloads". You will have to navigate past any other games, movies and programs you have obtained to get to the Ambassador titles; then simply click the "Redownload" button for each game and you will be sent back to download the next on the list after each.
I'm personally excited for all of the titles I never got to play, as I skipped from GameBoy Pocket to Nintendo DS Lite and only beat Minish Cap & WarioWare and played the first 2 worlds of Mario vs DK.
What are you most excited for? Have you had any problems downloading these? Do you have info from other regions? Let us know in the comments, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more news, rumors and updates!
Club Nintendo North America got a new look and new rewards, well some are old ones that have been gone a while and have returned, but the new ones like 3DS and Wii downloadable games are pretty sweet! Check it out here: Club Nintendo NA (Thanks Charles for the tip!)
This morning, Japanese 3DS Ambassador Owners received notice on their systems that the Ambassador Games will be available this Friday! The full list of GBA games that will be available are:
* F-Zero: Maximum Velocity * Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones * Kirby & The Amazing Mirror * Mario Kart: Super Circuit * Mario vs. Donkey Kong * Metroid Fusion * Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island * The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap * Wario Land 4 * WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames
I haven't received a notification on my system yet, so I cannot say for sure if these games will be available for the US this Friday also. We will update this post once we find out.
What do you guys think of the Ambassador game selection? I personally think that its a great selection!
Monster Hunter 3G boosts the 3DS system sales into the best weekly sales number yet at 378,114 units. The game itself in just two days sold 471,055 copies, that's just shy of half-a-freaking-million. The 3DS is doing good now, it's safe to say, despite it's terrible launch. These are Japanese sales (duh). (source)
The rumor, because the source is some unidentifiable ninja ghost, is that Gamestop itself persuaded Nintendo to release the game in the United States, and is even helping with the publishing costs. They also say that Nintendo will be watching Xenoblade sales very closely as a gauge in deciding what to do with The Last Story, another fan favorite RPG destined to be released in Europe. It seems though the pre-orders for Xenoblade Chronicles are not going as well as Nintendo had hoped.
If you are one of the fans who said you would get the game if it came out in the US, I would say it that as gentlemen and ladies of your honor, you will need to buy it when it launches. Why not pre-order it too, just to help push Nintendo into releasing the other one earlier, if at all. (source)
I get it now, North America finally catches up with Europe in acquiring top quality games by announcing Xenoblade Chronicles as a April 2012 release, and what do our brothers and sisters do? They go and 1-up us again! Nintendo Europe has officially announced that The Last Story, another one of those Operation Rainfall games we've talked about, will not only be released in Europe, but will be released before North America even gets Xenoblade Chronicles! Yeah they get The Last Story February 24th, 2012.
Dr Reggie, Nintendo Europe is kicking your ass, and taking your name. With the WiiU coming out late next year, or later if things don't go too well, it looks as if Xenoblade Chronicles may actually be that last story the Wii has to tell. However if you were to localize a couple more games like Pandoras Tower, and The Last Story, you may actually have a more appropriate ending in the Wii lifespan. Otherwise what else is left to play? Love, Anton
