WiiDark submitted the latest N+ logo you see to the right. Any feedback? I'm not happy about those black bars showing up, myself. The logo has to be 320x240. I'll leave it up for a while, and if a solution (updated image is created) please submit to the Captain or Seaempty also, as I will be helping a friend move today...

Why not just fill in the sides with white?

From what I can tell, he can't just "fill in the sides with white". He'd have to redo the textures on the sides, around the shadow, so it didn't look real bad.

I actually prefer the seal we had before.

It's a pretty good logo. You could probably just fill the sides with white like the other two guys before me are suggesting.

I think I prefer the seal - more Nintendo-esque smile

It is a good logo, however, and will be better when modified.

I find it to be a display of Photoshop filters rather than a viable logo, but taking the black borders off would improve it.

I was just experimenting a bit. I was trying to make a globe with the N+ logo in front of it to represent that the N+ group is a world wide thing. It also explains the reason why the file name was "the world is yours". Which is irronically part of the title of the Scareface movie.
Thats the reason for the use of filters, i tried to make a simple shape look like a blue globe with clouds. But i guess from the recent criticism, i failed to achieve the look i was going for.

.ED... you can change it back to the previous logo if you want.

It wasn't just a compilation of photoshop filters. It took some effort making that logo.

I'm sorry, Wiidark. I wasn't trying to be insulting. I'm a bit blunt and exaggerant for my own good at times. I am a graphic artist by trade and by degree, so I'm used to dishing out criticism while taking it in return. I mean nothing by it.

Despite my criticism I do find it an improvement over the old one. .Ed seems to believe so himself, having replaced the old one with the new one you created. If you're looking for a way to improve the globe you can look at real-life photographs of the Earth from space as references. NASA has excellent high-res photographs of the Earth and best of all they're all free. Do a search there for "blue marble".

actually, i had a little trouble locating the 3d seal... yipe! i'll fint it... or maybe we should make one with a pink N...
