I didn't realise shops charged so little for batteries nowadays.
Is that their current prices? It seems revoltingly cheap!
72? That's an ample amount for me.

I'll stop now.

Hm...I could have sworn that at the Home Depot up here sold packs of 36 for about $8 each...

I went with the option on the right, and then bought an additional 8 pack of rechargables for another 20 bucks... so i got 12 powerful batteries for the price of 144... since I can only use about 8 at a time (for Wii), this to me is easily the best choice.

I'm not too interested in additional docking stations or rechargable battery 'paks', as they tend to die faster and can not be easily replaced without buying a whole kit. plus i'm not interested in different grips that some of them offer.

thoughts?

I'd go with the left option. I have reservations about rechargeables due to the fact that they don't hold their charge as well when not in use.

As I rarely have both Wii Remotes going at once, they'd probably run out, and I guarantee that when I needed them most, they'd be dead. It'd annoy me having to wait a few hours for them to charge.

I too would go with the left option, because things with batteries may start to go even when the battery isn't completely dead, and if you charge them with juice still in them, it'll continue to screw up. Like an iPod. Or a car battery.

I got myself 6 rechargable Panasonic NI-MH batteries that was originally used for my cd player, gba, and my virtual boy. I bought those batteries 2 years ago and they still hold a pretty good charge today. You see unlike nickelcadium batteries, ni-mh batteries can be charged at anytime.

You keep some in the charger while the others are in use. Then you swap them out when you need to. It's the only way to power your small devices.

Though I do pack alkalines for the digi-cam when going on a trip.

And I would pick them as sling shot ammo once they're drained over the re-chargeables. wink

Got me 8 of these for my Wii remotes. Four of them go into an extra USB hub I had lying around while 4 go into my two remotes. I keep a pack of standard batteries around, though.

I got the right option to Ed. I figure whats spent is spent. no more spending for a while, as well as no more waste for a while.

I figure my option is to have batteries PERIOD. Last night I played 15 minutes of Zelda before my first Wii-mote died, then 2 minutes later, my second reserve of batteries gave out, leaving me battery-less. It was late, nothing was open, and I could not play Zelda for the rest of the night. Blah!
PS-I'm going to try the rechargables now!

I don't need batteries. My Wiimotes run on love.

.edDotEd Tuesday, February 13, 2007 3:30:58 PM

-MK.... stop doing that.... it's .... dirty

Well, I'm pretty sure that Ni-MH rechargables are much better for the enviroment than alkline could ever be...
Well, we're already destroying the Earth, now we just wait and see how it all ends...

I use fuel cells, but the platinum catalyst costs a few thousand dollars and has to be replaced every other year.

Oh wait, I use those batteries on the right, but close.

I use the rechargeable for my Wii mote and Wii balance board
