Stars For Wii Points On The Way?

Wii60 reported that the Stars Catalogue had been updated with the offer of 1000 Wii Points for the price of 789 Stars. Considering that you get 250 Stars for each game you register, this deal seems to be very good. Too good to be true, perhaps?
Indeed that was the case, as the offer was promptly removed, and GoNintendo have reported that it was an error on NOE's part. To me the random amount of Stars did seem a bit odd (and the "Astrid Test" text arouses a bit of suspicion), and I don't think that the final conversion rate will be as generous. As a result there are a lot of people out there who took Nintendo up on their offer, and are now minus 789 Stars and have not got 1000 Wii Points. I'm sure Nintendo will resolve this, and it is good to see that they are getting closer to the point when they can offer this service.
I was hoping that it would be a fixed offer, but it seems that they will be putting a certain amount of Wii Points on the catalogue, and these will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. I'm sure this will result in frantic rushes to the NOE website when new Wii Points are made available.

I think two for one would be more fair since the people with the most stars will most likely be people who buy the most from the VC.
