I AM 8 BIT Version 2.007 Now Open!

, , , ,

Nintendo certainly influences other areas in our lives besides pure gaming—books, movies, music, and food are all facets of life that have been penetrated by video games. But as i am 8-bit celebrates its Version 2.007 gallery opening this week, our minds can’t help but turn to the artistic and expressive side of Nintendo. If you live in the Los Angeles or San Francisco area and haven’t had a chance to check out Gallery 1988, you NEED to get your gaming behind over there to behold over 200 art pieces, including an enormous working Atari control!

If you know you won’t be able to make it to Version 2.007 this year and can’t wait for the next iam8bit artbook to come out, you've got a couple of options! As Seaempty posted last week, 8-Bit Artist has a gallery open in New York open now through May. You can also head over to deviantART.com and check out some Nintendo fanart. With well over 34 million deviations and counting, you’re sure to find SOMETHING that piques your interest. I’ve found everything from painted Nintendo Keds to console still lifes in oil paint. Here are a few of my favorites! Be sure to check out the rest of each artists' gallery as well!

I want a print of the Katamari one to put in a delightful frame.
