Wii Shortage Ending?

I was enlightened yesterday when N+ member DrLaunch mentioned that he will not be getting his Wii until May, after months of waiting. It's good news for DrLaunch today, as he discovered that the shortage may be coming to an end.
A Nintendo spokesman has stated to GamesIndustry.biz that...
For the first three months of this year we have been producing one million hardware units per month. We are increasing the manufacturing capacity and forecast to ship 14 million in this fiscal year to our distributors and retail customers globally.
Is an end of the shortage in sight? Will Nintendo be able to conquer the demand? Will DrLaunch gets his Wii (Along with many, many other frustrated people out there)? Only time will tell, I guess...
According to the store I ordered it from I might not be able to get my Wii before the end of may. But the Wii shortage is not only bad for the many people who want to get a Wii. It's bad for Nintendo because their market share will not grow as fast as it could.
I think Nintendo might have been able to beat Playstation 2 in sales if there were enough consoles. After all, Playstation 2 is selling more than Nintendo Wii at the moment.
