We don't have as much, or as potent of news as we did last time, but if you are interested in the game, even just a tiny bit, then this Smash Bros update is still worth checking out. We got a new character, and two characters' "Final Smash" attacks direct from the Official Website.
"Read More" for the low-down...
Characters
Wario
This is the first game in the Smash Brothers universe that Wario appears in! Hooray! It's no surprise that Wario was added, he has been a regular in the character mash-up games for some time now. Think Mario Party, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, etc... The real surprise in Warios appearance is that he took his Wario Ware clothing into battle. It surely does add that "spice" to his character. Another neat thing about Wario in Smash Brothers is the quirky way he moves, it's just so bizarre. If you havn't seen his moves in action, go back and check out the teaser movies, you will get a pretty good feel for how awkward this character is. In the first teaser he "lets one rip" which I bet we can all assume is going to be his "Final Smash" attack, already named the "Wario Waft". The Second video is where he displays all the grace that is Wario athletics. From the way he crawls backwards, to the way he bashes people behind him with his noggin. And while running, he just has to change from sideways, to forward to backwards doesn't he? Wario has been a wished-for character for many fans of the Smash Brother series.Pikachu - Final Smash
We love Pikachu don't we? yes we all do, so cute, so adorable, so gosh darned infatuating! From the "pika-pika" sounds, to the cute cuddley red-cheeks (which morbidly are the sacs that hold his electricity), we simply can't get enough of him... Until he turns into a speeding ball of light that destroys anything in it's path! THEN we may have enough Pikachu for one day. Once Pikachu grabs the Smash Ball, his eyes glow red with the fury of a thousand demons, demons who also give Pikachu the flames of lucifer... at least thats what I gather from the pictures. And once Pikachu has decided to unleash the wrath that is hell on his enemies he transformes into a pure energy ball that the player can control. The energy ball is known as the "Volt Tackle". Pikachu must pay a price for his evil powers though, moving this fast is very difficult to control from what I gather, and the site doesn't even speak of the horrors that happen to the mouse if he decides to cancel his Volt Tackle at any given moment.Link - Final Smash
Ba ba ba baAaAaAa! This old time contestant calls upon the power of the Triforce to aide him in his quest for... whatever reason we enter these Smash Brother battles (is there a reason?). Anyway, once again, to gain access to your characters "Final Smash" you must first obtain the Smash Ball that appears on the stage. After Link obtains the item, the triforce tattoo/birthmark that is on the back of his hand will begin to glow. When Link decides to unlesh the heavenly light, he traps his enemy between two holistic Triforce, and begins to slice, dice, chop, cut, and hack his way to victory! Huzzah for Link! Horrible for others! Ahhh! Anyway if you would like to see his "Final Smash" in action take a look at the first teaser trailer.- Captain Seagull
