Happy April Fool's: Cruis'n (Wii) Screenshots Released

What? It's not April Fool's? The folks over at Midway must have missed that memo. Surely, this has to be a joke.

Maybe not. A batch of screenshots for the upcoming Wii exclusive Cruis'n has been released on the Internet. Here's one ... cover your eyes!



You can check out the rest of the batch after the jump. I can't imagine why you'd want to... There's also some screenshots from the arcade versions... I actually think they're better.

EDIT: As N+ users Melvin Garcia and drlaunch pointed out, the first screenshot I posted was not actually from Cruis'n, but from Gran Turismo 2. That pic was the in the GAF thread with the others (albeit a couple posts down), so I just assumed it was part the Cruis'n batch. I've removed it from this post, and I aplogize for the confusion. Thanks for keeping me straight guys!

No. That's on Wii. I think the one that looks like it has two screens is on like two big screens at GC, could be wrong though. But this game is definitely for Wii, no DS version at all.

When I saw the first screenshot I thought the same as seaempty. You'll se games with that kind of graphics on the DS. It's almost so Burnout Legends for DS looks better.

why is the arcade one looks better than the one for the wii? i mean the one for the DS.. because.. if that ISNT DS graphics i may have to kick some ppl over at midway in the balls

Yeah, that looks like DS graphics, if not, than Midway has been very lazy recently in the graphics department or those pics are really crummy looking.

I think Midway released a game with a steering wheel for the Wii earlier. It looks like it was a N64 game.

Having your game looking like other games for its platform is a major selling point I'd say. Because it kind of makes me wonder how much effort they put into making a good game.

GT2 stands for Gran Turismo 2 so that top screenshot is definately not from the Wii version.

Either: it's a joke from some blog (I haven't seen this news posted with sources yet... anywhere), or it's a joke from Midway, or Midway haven't bothered with graphics yet (they've put graphics so you can see 'em (for testing etc), but not done them properly yet).

There's no way they'd release a game like that nowadays. The screenshots are DS-class...

Oh my gosh! That's just The Fast and the Furious Arcade pictures. And for the level select, it looks like someone just used photoshop to put all of the level pictures in a group!

Damanx1093: I don't think so.... I had a look at the Fast And Furious Arcade screenshots and didn't see these anywhere. Another gaming blog had also said they received these in a press kit from Midway. They do come from the same developer, which is why they might look alike.

VegaTheTerrible: I wouldn't say that. Nintendo didn't make this game, Midway did. Blame them. bigsmile

Ah. Press kit images. I love them. Most companies that sell products have them, free to use when writing about their product. I've used press kit images from Microsoft Surface and Apple before.

If you want official images from Midway, simply contact them here. I think being a blogger qualifies you to use the images from their press kits.

Press kit images are official images. Everything else has been licensed to that specific site or has been copied without any license being obtained.
