Blue Liight Special: Wii Shop Channel Update

Many of you might have noticed a nice, calming blue light flicker on your Wii today. This is not the annoying Kmart blue light guy. It's another Blue Liight Special!
As many of you might have noticed (especially if you frequent N+) Nintendo is going to launch WiiWare later this spring. This is what this blue light is for. Wait... no it's not WiiWare itself, but an update to allow it to work come the time for its release. I believe Nintendo can put it better themselves. This is what the message in your Wii's mail states:
Dear Nintendo Customer,
An update to your Wii Shop Channel is now available. This update is needed in order to access WiiWare games launching later this spring.
To receive this free update, please press the "Update" button located on the lower-right side of the screen or go to "Wii Settings" and select "Wii System Update" to begin.
For those who have already done the update on or after March 20th, you will not need to update again.
Thank you for updating your Wii console!
Nintendo
I guess it's best for them to roll out updates for this before the thing is launched to reserve the bandwidth for downloading WiiWare titles instead of downloading updates to their Wii. Better safe than sorry.
