ESRB Ends Game Leaks

, , , , ,

Ah, the ESRB. Love or hate their ratings, you can't deny the awesomeness of looking through the listings and finding a game that hasn't been announced yet. For example, earlier this year we found out Earthbound was coming to the VC and Dr. Mario was coming to WiiWare - before Nintendo ever announced these things. In fact, they still haven't announced Earthbound...

Nevertheless, our fun is about to end. According to Next-Gen, the ESRB is about to implement a policy which allows publishers to choose a date when their rating should be made public. Apparently they've had complaints about leaking others peoples products.... duh.

I see games with 'mild language' get rated e10, while a game no more violent, has no traces of swearing, gets a T rating. the system they use is clearly flawed.

Gee worse than nom R rating here in Australia (OFLC R=ESRB AO) .
If the Australian government does allow R rated games i expected that non of the games gets released on any ghame console similur over ther in America wher nether Sony nor Microsofe nor even Nintendo allow AO rated games on there systems .
