Mega Man 9 to Feature DLC, Cost $10

You've seen the announcement and scans and you've seen the first footage - what's next? How about some pricing and release date information?

... for Japan, at least. Back in SNES days, people would have been happy to pay at least $50 dollars for a new installment in the series. According to Famitsu, however, will sell on WiiWare for 1000 Wii Points, or $10 USD. Famitsu also mentions the game will see a September release in Japan, and we can only assume it's likely to release in America around that time as well.

Famitsu and Nintendo Power have now both suggested Mega Man 9 will feature downloadable content. Any ideas on what it will be? Let us know in the comments.

We have also received several new screenshots, which you can see after the break.

the obvious possibly with megaman dlc is new levels/weapons.

or less likely, new 'costumes'. the problem with that is (a)the 8-bit visual style and (b)they would probably be palette swaps of his default sprite, largely because of (a).

Yeah, 10 bucks for an NES left-over (whoever tries to convince you this is a NEW game they juste came up with and had the brilliant idea of building it out of scratch into an 8-bit fashion is LYING) sounds fair... It's like buying any other VC port...
I'm still waiting to be impressed by this game...but I doubt it will...

Someone has made a demake of MM7. With NES styled graphics, music and sound. It almost seems like the way them game was almost supposed to be. Here's the link: http://www.indiegames.com/blog/2008/06/remake_game_pick_rockman_7fc_m.html

It's an 8-bit MegaMan game! What more proof do you need?!!!

the only thing proven here is that it's an 8-bit wiiware game. assuming something doesn't make it true.
