MotionPlus Technology Not Limited to Nintendo

The fine folks at InvenSense, who created the Wii MotionPlus technology, recently got in touch with EuroGamer to discuss more details about the device.

According to Joe Virginia, InvenSense's relationship with Nintendo is not exclusive. In fact, other companies are already looking at the technology, but Mr. Virginia refuses to name names. *cough* Microsoft and Sony *cough*

Mr. Virginia goes on to say that the Wii MotionPlus adds a MEMS (micro electrical mechanical system) rate gyroscope to the remote, allowing for six degrees of freedom, or the "holy grail" as InvenSense puts it.
