The Conduit Gets Real

, ,

Real-time motion sensing, that is. Our friends at GameSpot had a little hands-on session with The Conduit at the Penny Arcade Expo 2008 and they unearth a few sweet 'secrets'. According to their 'exposé', High Voltage's highly anticipated game will not only feature WiiSpeak support, but also Motion+ support (as to what exactly will you be able to do with that, is yet to be seen).

The other important thing they unveiled is the release date: March, 2009. And in the process, they maybe also revealed that Motion+, as well as WiiResort, would undoubtedly be released somewhere around those dates as well. Read more 'juicy' details after the break...

Via GameSpot.

As for other details they mention the 10-hour long single-player survival campaign, online multiplayer support, fully customizable screen elements and responsiveness, and my personal favorite, FINALLY a good game with LAN support. Yup. LAN support. You read it. Thank you, High Voltage.

While on the subject of online play, there are your standard game modes: death match, team death match, and capture the flag.

Also they reveal a nifty shooting feature where you can shoot around corners by twisting the WiiMote in just the right moment (has anyone seen 'Wanted'?). That and the cursor-guided missile launcher will definitively be a lot of fun...

High Voltage is surely putting A LOT of effort into this game, and so far it looks quite impressive...let's just hope the hype doesn't undermine the final release with impossible-to-meet expectations (Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart, Nintendo's E3 conference...). One thing that I am grateful for is that they are NOT bit%*@#! about Nintendo not telling anyone about Motion+ until E3's announcement like OTHER companies (cough... Lucas Arts... cough...) and are actually working towards integrating the technology into their game. Again, I can't possibly think of a novel use of this improved motion sensing thing into a shooter, but we'll just have to wait and see...

Wii MotionPlus great nice hopefully this wii work out .
The MotionPlus gyroscopes comined in with the Wii Remotes Acclometers can do some pretty amazing things but im worried that a too many people think the motionplus is a crappy addon thus fuiling poor sales .

I wonder what this game could possibly do with Motion+... I'm still waiting for Red Steel 2.

hey i dont care if they have to push the game back another year to make it work right with M+, as long as it gets done correctly.

Smash bros Brawl is still amazing to me.

Animal Crossing: Wii is already forcing me to get the Wii Speak.
