For those of you following the rollercoaster story that has been the release of the Ghostbusters game, you have already lived the multiple times it has been confirmed, then denied, then confirmed again, then dropped, then reassured, and now in limbo... Well, there might be some hope.
While nor Vivendi Games nor Activision have any clue as to who will publish the dropped games, they have assured that at least the Ghostbusters game is going to come out next year. (Via MCV) And now, Columbia Pictures, the original producers of the first two Ghostbusters movies have announced that there IS going to be a third installment to the popular movie series, reuniting the four original cast members (minus Rick Moranis...is he even still alive?). Movie tie-in, perhaps? This news is sure to revive the release of the game...(Via Variety)
OK, so the following info might not be videogame-related, but is still interesting!
According to the initial reports, original director Ivan Reitman is not returning to the main chair on this one, although he is probably producing it. Also, the original writing team has already been confirmed, as well as the four original Ghostbusters: Harold Ramis (Egon), Dan Aykroyd (Ray), Bill Murray (Peter), and Ernie Hudson (Winston). There's also buzz about an appeareance by Sigourney Weaver, but that is still not confirmed...
