(Likely) Rumor: Nintendo Event To Be Held October 2

Yesterday, Gamekyo posted a rumor from a Japanese website stating that Nintendo will be holding a media event in Japan on October 2nd. According to this rumor, Nintendo is planning to showcase their upcoming items. Historically, Nintendo has never attended Tokyo Game Show (October 9-12 this year), and has always held a separate event in the same month. So we'd say this rumor is likely to be true.

Today, a Japanese newspaper adds some credibility to that rumor. The NS Journal states that Nintendo will indeed be holding an event on October 2, and to expect some "new products".

At last years press event in Japan, Nintendo announced Monster Hunter 3 for Wii, WiiWare, Sonic's appearance in Brawl, the Everybody Votes Channel, showed off Wii Music, and a lot more.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but Nintendo's been telling us to be patient for core games and a storage solution, so...? Even in a worst case scenario, it simply can't be worse than E3...

It will be better than E3 on the fact that its a Japanese event, OUR stupid lady rep won't be there.

but it's held in america(San Francisco) not Japan. so don't get your hopes up about Cammie not being there. p:
