Weak Pound Drives Wii Hardware Price Up

, ,

Sad news for the UK. According to a Nintendo press release, because of currency fluctuations and the weakening of the British Pound, they've said they are now forced to drive the trade price on the Wii up about GBP18 to GBP20.

Although this is just an increase on the price Nintendo gives retailers and it is up to the stores themselves if they sell the system at the MSRP of GBP180, it will definitely shorten the retailers profit margin, eventually driving them to either increasing the retail price or opt for only selling the system in a bundle pack to increase profit margins.
