New Zelda Concept Art

, , , , , ,

You wanted it, you've got it. The first concept art for the upcoming (but not soon enough) new Wii Zelda, showing a swordless Link and a creepy female character (or is it a very queeny he?). Link doesn't look that much older to me, does he?

She's totally the sword

Yeah, it's good to have a new Zelda...but if you read the interviews... well, this game was promised at last year's E3, was a no-show this year's E3 (but revealed shortly thereafter), promised to be shown AS A PRELIMINARY VERSION on next year's E3... wanna bet as to when we'll be seeing this baby on the shelves? 2011, I might venture to say... sad

Duaneborri Friday, June 5, 2009 3:41:49 PM

That is true

Charles SchlossChas4 Friday, June 5, 2009 3:50:13 PM

maybe the sowrd is somewhere else, could it be after twillight princess

SpookSpook81 Friday, June 5, 2009 3:58:03 PM

Not if you believe Miyamoto's interview... he hints specifically at Links's swordlessness, and he says it's an entirely different story (after being questioned if this was a continuation to Twilight Princess).

I pulled the image straight from Nintendo's press site and updated the post. No more IGN logo for us, no sir. bigsmile

Also, here's the caption, if anyone's interested. Nothing new though:

Legendary Nintendo video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed this concept artwork for a new Legend of Zelda game planned for the Wii console on June 2 during the E3 Expo in Los Angeles.

Speculation: The girl is the sword. From another site:

That speculation about the girl being the sword actually seems accurate. Maybe a curse or something that turned the Master Sword into a living being. Who knows? I'm excited to hear more about this story.

Charles SchlossChas4 Friday, June 5, 2009 7:46:51 PM

yea, it could be the story behind the master sword

Geoff GirardinG-off Friday, June 5, 2009 10:43:47 PM

A more detailed image with the similarities between the girl and the Master Sword.

So basically the Master Sword is actually a chick with a really elongated, pointy, sharp head? Creepy...

Duaneborri Friday, June 5, 2009 11:00:46 PM

lol

It looks like a great concept, can't wait for this next Zelda! Why didn't they show this at the E3 conference? If they had joined this, the trailer for Dementium 2, Professor Layton and The Diabolical Box and The Grinder, I think it would leave everybody just yikes for the rest of the month.
Still, just thinking about Metroid: Other M makes go nutts, so it was probably for the best that they didn't show everything at once p

this is odd...link is left hand..,but his shield is in his left O_o

maybe the creepy lady does the fighting.....

maybe its in his left hand because....HE WILL GET A SWORD but they have to make him right handed for the Wii
OR MAYBE HE WILL FIGHT WITH HIS SHIELD!

I hope this game gives more hidden clues on the Sheikah...EVERY game before did @_@

Geoff GirardinG-off Monday, June 8, 2009 4:14:33 AM

They've switched up Link's sword hand for the Wii Zelda games to that right handed players (majority of humans) can better assimilate themselves into the gaming experience. That's why he's holding his sword in his left hand in this art, and in Twilight Princess, and in the future-coming game.

IVE GOT IT =D

Link is older right? But he doesnt look it..

Maybe Link isnt older in AGE but this is a Link from REEAAALLY far in the past...before the Master Sword was created..and THATS how he is older than ever before!

Ill bet its something like that
