No More MotionPlus, Classic Controller Struggle

, , ,

Sad (and bad) news for MotionPlus today... According to a piece by 1UP, Suda51's No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is ditching the original idea to include MotionPlus support into the game and has gone 'the Classic way' by adding Classic Controller support instead.

Although in past interviews Suda51 had said that they wanted to include MotionPlus support into the game to provide better control over Travis' attacks, it seems that such idea has been left out of the final cut. However, an alternate control scheme has been added (and according to them was a very big reason they decided to cut MotionPlus support): Classic Controller.

Now, we know some of the mini-games in this sequel are retro, 2D ones and would play so much better with an SNES-like control, so including a Classic Controller option seems like a good idea. However, you can play the whole game in this way, taking a little bit of the fun out of Travis' beam katana moves and phallic references while waggling the WiiMote.

Wii Motion Plus was the only reason why I wanted this game.

My guess is they wanted to see how the game would play on a "regular" controller before they take it over to xbox/PS.
"Just sayin"

Moirob: I hadn't thought about it, but yeah, you're right... They have been quite open about the fact that they want to migrate to other consoles, so this would be a pretty good excuse to start taunting them (and experimenting with Wii users p)
