, , , ,

Sega has set a date for the delayed Conduit 2: February 2011. They also include a new trailer to go along with it. Does anyone else feel these screens look a bit... umm... polished?

It might be polished, but this cannot be made certain until the game comes out. The Wii could do a lot more if developers actually put effort into it. Case in point, most Wii games are 50% random padding.

How do I know? I've seen "scrubbed" Wii ISO files, and most are under 2GB in size. I've even seen ones that are under 1GB. Quite pathetic actually.

...and before I hear you people's crap, my actions don't hurt the industry. I'll be damned if I'm going to repurchase over 2 dozen games that have been stolen from me. It took several years to build my meager collection, but it only took two thieves and a pawn form to ruin it.

Mason, no no we don't see these comments negatively at all (at least I don't) I agree fully with you, many of these games are shovel ware and we designed quick and cheap and to cash in on the Wii money train that anything you can rip-off and call "We-Party" or something will fill developers pockets with.

I think what HVS is doing is what game developers used to do on the days of snes and 64, they had to work within limits, and developed awesome tricks to make the game bad-ass beyond those limits, I think that 360 and PS3 developers CAN be lazy, it's easy to develop the looks you need for the game without truely squeezing the coding to do everything. I bet if those developers DID develop in the style of old days, they would get the same great games but with MUCH smaller load times or even better in-game polish. Really this isn't a negative point i bring up about the competition, it's just a thought that the amazing stuff they do could be more amazing if they really worked deep into the project.

a.k.a. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) which was going to be ported to Wii but wasn't due to "time constraints". bigsmile
