151 Poké-Prints Battle It Out

, ,

Pokémon Battle Royal is a collection of 151 different artists presenting their own unique piece of art representing one of the original 151 pocket monsters from Green, Red, Blue, and Yellow versions. It's wicked to see 151 different styles all on exhibit in one place sharing one unified theme that you already love.

It's Pokemon fan art at its best, and if you happen to love any of these enough, you can actually order prints to display at home, or in the office, or maybe even in your car if you are a Funk Master Flex type person.

The image here is #83 Farfetch’d by Ian Gorton, one of my favorite on display, and will probably be hung in my kitchen or dinning room.

North American NPC: Pikmin 2 Sprouts In June

, ,

New Play Control is a line of Gamecube games re-released on Wii with enhanced Wii-Remote control styles. And even though NPC: Pikmin 2 came out in Japan in March 2009 and a month later in Europe, North America has had to wait until next month to get a hold of the title. I myself had a very hard time finding Pikmin 2 for Gamecube as the title has become pretty obscure, and goes for a pretty penny on the internet these days. I wanted to play through it because I loved the first one and am going to soon enjoy number three on WiiU. I finally found a friend who owned it and let me borrow it, which was very nice because the game rocks solid. Now I have to decide weather to OWN it again... 3DS Update: Folders

, ,

The 3DS update that promised to give us folder creation is now ready in North America All Regions! The update lets you create and name new folders as icons on your Home Screen. This can be super useful for those of us who have a lot going on when it comes to downloads!

I wish it let you create icons or at least pic colors for the folder, but simply having a folder with a custom name really is more than I could have hoped for. Creating specific folders is great for keeping lets say all of your GBA games together or NES titles. Maybe you just want to have a folder for videos or demos, that's cool too!

WiiU So Serious?

, , ,

Can I write a rant article? Is it permissible? Is this rant article right here real? Are you reading it? Do I care? The answer to all these questions is yes. I have given myself permission to write a real rant article that I care about you reading. What am I ranting about? Wii U and it's position in the world of what I call “iGaming”, “Graphic Whores”, and “Duty Callers”...

Rumor: Wii U Launch Date

, ,

Official: Nintendo set a "Fall 2012" launch date.

Rumor: An internal based memo from Nintendo circulating through Japanese game retailer MediaLand, claims that the Nintendo Wii U will launch in North America on Sunday, November 18th and then a week later in Japan, with no European date cited.

Remember: November is a very important time for system and software launches. The Nintendo Wii launched on Sunday, November 19th in 2006, and on December 2nd in Japan. This is why the rumor sounds reasonable, but remember, the best way to start a fake rumor is to make it sound reasonable! If you copy-paste dates from Wii to Wii U it pretty much fits 'in-line' with Nintendo strategies.

As Reggie Passes

, , , ...

Reggie, the president of Nintendo America had a Spot Pass for everyone who had the 3DS wireless function on today and passed any Spot Pass area. He walks right into your gates wearing sparkling gold pants! the man is a fashionista I tells ya!

Reggie decided to crash your party because it's been one year since the 3DS has been on sale, and he brings to you all kinds of puzzle pieces for you to choose from! even pink ones! Just don't do like me, I got so excited I instantly imported him into my Mii Maker, and in doing that I waved good-bye to those puzzles, and the ability to use him in Find Mii 2!

Here is Reggie meeting ZombiAnton for the first time! Anyone else snap a picture? did you get any cool pieces? did you screw up like me?

Rumor: Donkey Kong Country 3DS

, , , ...

It looks as if Gamestop Stores and Multiplayer.com are displaying place-holder box art for the pre-order of "Donkey Kong Country 3D". No such game has been announced by Nintendo, Retro, or anyone else for that matter, it's just kind of out there now. Anyone with a fairly decent knowledge of Donkey Kong games would notice that the fake box-art is actually the DS Jungle Climber art, with a new title imposed over it.

Not only are they 'holding' a May 25th release date, there also appears to be a Smash Brothers 3DS box in the Gamestop picture as well, with a release-year of 2012. The work on Kid Icarus JUST finished, giving the studio very very little time to prepare the Smash title for this year. So remember it's all rumors still.

Wii Are The Champions

, ,

The Nintendo Wii is amazing. If I had to sum-up the system into a single thought, it would have to be just that. These days everyone has the same general feeling of the Wii lifespan coming to an end, and for some reason, it feels as if it is going away forgotten, like a shadow into darkness it seems to be fading away.

We should not forget the Wii, and though the greatest years are behind it, it still has some good stuff left for us, and has left one hell of a legacy in it's wake! Read more to refresh yourself with why the Wii honestly is the king of this generations consoles, and maybe even of all time...

Europe Gets Wii Fatal Frame II

, , ,

A Fatal Frame II remake has been sitting on the sidelines of Wii forever, so long in-fact that speculation was rising as to the game becoming a WiiU title instead, especially knowing that Tecmo has a "launch game" planned for the system, and nobody outside of the company knows what it is. Nintendo of Europe has issued an official press release of upcoming games, one of which is Fatal Frame II on Wii.

The press release actually barely mentions the game, fitting it into a tag-line in a bigger announcement of Spirit Camera for 3DS, and in doing so neglects to give a release date. This is pretty interesting news, considering that Fatal Frame IV once upon a time had a European release date, but was then canceled and never saw release. American Wii owners still are left completely in the dark as there is still no news about the title coming state-side at all. I personally have an import copy of Fatal Frame IV, and because I'm using the fan-translation patch, enjoy the hell out of it! I would be very pleased to hear a North American release announcement.

Speculation: Pokemon Gray / Grey a Reality?

, ,

Before you tell me I'm an idiot for using a correct and a wrong spelling of the color, realize that they are both correct, and they are both accepted, so I may have my own freedom switching off between the two as I see fit. This news comes from Andriasang again, and talks about a 'sequel' - so it could even be another set of colors and not Gray, who knows.

I'll tell you who knows, Game Freak's Junichi Masuda does! answering a fans' question about Pokemon Black and White getting a successor he says "Well... it's not like I don't know. [crowd LOLs] . I can't answer. However... I wonder if I can say this? Watch Pokemon Smash. That's all I can say." Pokemon Smash being a popular Japanese television program that usually gets to spill the beans on big Pokemon news.

If you want to watch the interview, read more, but be warned it's all in Japanese and does not include subtitles for any language.

3DS Getting Seaman

, , ,

I... I'm going to try as... best as I can to not write this news update with any jokes. It's pretty difficult given that the name of the game is a joke itself, aptly named to create giggles for anyone who... understands the subject matter, and because there are three dimensions involved... and also a touch-screen... oh my.

Andriasang reports that Nintendo plans to "revive other publisher's titles on the 3DS as part of a strategy to bring new strong titles to the system", and the one title mentioned specifically as an idea is the Sega Dreamcast cult-classic: Seaman. I have been saying since the original DS came out that Seamasn needs to be ported or sequelled for the system, and now it looks like it just might, remember it might, this isn't an official announcment for a release.

Seaman is a game where you start by raising tadpoles into man-faced-fish creatures day by day. It takes place in a real-time clock like Animal Crossing games, but is more of a pet simulation game... narrated by Spock (Leonard Nimoy). During the course of 'gameplay' you will teach your Seaman to speak by talking to him in real life, and answering questions that he has, because he actually learns from you. You also have to keep the tank water temperature to a comfortable setting or they may die, also you need to clean the tank. You really treat Seaman like a fish in a fish tank day by day, but you also will grow as friends who understand each other more and more as you talk. Seaman can be picked up out of the water, but he doesn't like it, and he will show his disgust if you say the wrong things to him.

Having a touch screen, and a microphone, and two screens (at one point you grow moths in a second tank as food) is actually what the game was designed for, only the designers didn't know it yet. Now the crazy dream may be a reality. Since Nintendo plans to visit other titles as well, what games do you think they should bring to the 3DS?
