I... I'm going to try as...
best as I can to not write this news update with any jokes. It's pretty difficult given that the name of the game is a joke itself, aptly named to create giggles for anyone who...
understands the subject matter, and because there are three dimensions involved... and also a touch-screen... oh my.
Andriasang reports that Nintendo plans to "revive other publisher's titles on the 3DS as part of a strategy to bring new strong titles to the system", and the one title mentioned specifically as an idea is the Sega Dreamcast cult-classic:
Seaman. I have been saying since the original DS came out that Seamasn needs to be ported or sequelled for the system, and now it looks like it just might, remember it
might, this isn't an official announcment for a release.
Seaman is a game where you start by raising tadpoles into man-faced-fish creatures day by day. It takes place in a real-time clock like
Animal Crossing games, but is more of a pet simulation game... narrated by Spock (Leonard Nimoy). During the course of 'gameplay' you will teach your Seaman to speak by talking to him
in real life, and answering questions that he has, because he actually
learns from you. You also have to keep the tank water temperature to a comfortable setting or they may die, also you need to clean the tank. You really treat Seaman like a fish in a fish tank day by day, but you also will grow as friends who understand each other more and more as you talk. Seaman can be picked up out of the water, but he doesn't like it, and he will show his disgust if you say the wrong things to him.
Having a touch screen, and a microphone, and two screens (at one point you grow moths in a second tank as food) is actually what the game was designed for, only the designers didn't know it yet. Now the crazy dream may be a reality. Since Nintendo plans to visit other titles as well, what games do you think they should bring to the 3DS?
