Everbody Votes at N+: Ultra Edition

Last week, we wanted to know what other consoles you owned. It was one of the most popular polls we've ever run, so thank you for taking part! The full results can be found after the break, but it's clear that whilst you guys are clearly Nintendo fans, you do own other consoles.

It's a similar situation for us mods, and with this week's poll, it should become clear why we asked the question. We are considering expanding N+ to cover all consoles, not just Nintendo's, and we would like to hear your thoughts on this idea. We have gaming interests outside Nintendo, like a lot of you, and hopefully you'll enjoy reading about them here, as much as we would do covering them. We do realise that N+ has been a bit neglected of late, mainly due to changes in the mod's personal lives, but we hope that this will be the case no more!

In some respects this is the most important poll we've ever run, because it could affect the future of this group in a massive way.

So let your votes do some talking, and choose one of the following options. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Would you like N+ to cover other consoles?

  • Yes, I would like N+ to cover all gaming news, reviews, and previews!
  • No, N+ has always been, and always should be, a Nintendo only group!

As always, votes can be cast in the sidebar on the right, and you must be a member of N+ to vote.

I'll reiterate than any comments, or justification of your vote would be very welcome!

You should revive the gaming content blog instead. I dunno but content from other consoles on a blog that spells Nintendo all over it sounds a bit awkward.

It should be Nintendo only but covering many things because I read other feeds and there are way more news of Nintendo (when they cover Xbox and PS) than here that is supposed to be only Nintendo.

One thing i thought of if you are going to cover other systems as well it means this site needs a namechange as like an example Gaming+

i dont like the idea of making N+ cover all systems. If i wanted news about all systems, i go to Gamepro's website. The reason I like n+ is because it ONLY covers Nintendo

I agree with paulandduck up there. I'm more comfortable with N+ staying primarily a Nintendo-only news source. Keep in mind that not everyone who visits here wants to hear about the latest shooter or Guitar Hero or bad multiplatform released-along-with-the-movie game.

I would suggest instead that you perhaps put a non-Nintendo board up on the forums, and see how popular it becomes.

Nintendo only. Please! I've experienced discontinued Nintendo magazines, when they tell their readers to read magazines which covers all consoles and I'm not happy with it. I read about 10% of it.

I read this blog because everything is Nintendo related.

You could post more about cross-platform games, although Wii sometimes receive a quite different version of the game, such as in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

WTF half this group is goddamn fanboys saying "no". WTF if you really like games youll try new ones. im not hating on the Wii, but SERIOUSLY. Super Mario Galaxy isnt the only good game out there. try Halo. you will like it

And well, this did start out as a Nintendo-only group! But, we'll see how we go from here :wink:

Whether people'd like only Nintendo related news on N + or not, doesn't have anything to do with fanboyishness. It has to do with their preferences for N +. It might be that people voting and commenting here have and enjoy systems from more than Nintendo, and really just come here for news about their Nintendo systems.

I think Siskan is reading it in Opera Mini, not a regular browser :wink: Maybe on mobiles it doesn't show up as quoted? MyOpera's markup... quite the trouble maker for our site P:

Triforce: Regarding the first comment you made on this thread, you might want to realize that things that may be considered "fanboyish" (i.e. Mario, Metroid, Zelda) aren't the only things that are covered at N+. I've been watching this site on-and-off since pretty close to its opening, and I've seen news from all over the Nintendo spectrum, including a pretty fair share of third-party games.

Also, personally, and this is my opinion, I've played Halo. A lot. I don't like Halo. I really, really don't. Just... thought I'd point that out.

i play mario metroid and zelda and dont think theyre fanboyish and 3rd party still counts if they dont cover it if its not on wii
