The boys over at VGTribune.com are holding a little Zelda marathon. Well, not so little. They are trying to get through all four 3D Zelda games - That's Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess - before Sunday night. And the best part? They are broadcasting the whole thing LIVE on ustream.tv!
Here's the link: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/vgtribune - I'm in the chatroom as 'GeoffGirardin' these guys are hilarious and definitely know their Zelda facts. Right now they are about to go tackle Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Check it out!

Help him fight through city streets, buildings, jungles, temples and various other locations in a quest to find his girl. He'll gain experience by using different fighting techniques to obtain more hearts, which will unlock more powerful techniques to use against his enemies. Armed with his mysterious and powerful martial arts, help Billy pummel his way through an array of goons, gang members and other Black Warrior scum to free Marian from their clutches.
Hey guys. Not to disappoint anyone, but unfortunately Tuesday night Brawl isn't happening anymore. The mods are finding it hard to have the time for it. But if you guys want to get together among yourselves and brawl, the official Brawl Friend Code thread is always open for you folks to trade in.
But one thing we are sure, is that there will be a weekly Mario Kart night on Wii. That way sea gets a chance to kick our butts.
I was serious in this review. It does not reflect the views of the other moderators of N+ (except for lutherjw, he agrees), these are my own thoughts and feelings about the game. It is crap.
What is it?
The latest in the highly popular Smash Bros. franchise, Brawl is a fighting game featuring many popular characters from the Nintendo Universe.
How does it play?
I would assume that everyone here is used the the mechanics of the Smash Bros. franchise. If you aren't, go out and buy yourself Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo64 and educate yourself. Then buy Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo Gamecube and educate yourself some more. Then convince yourself that there are only two installments to the Smash Bros. series and forget that Brawl exists. Seriously. The image to the right is an artists rendering of what I want to do to Sakurai now. Unfortunately I have a normal sized fist so it wouldn't be as effective. The main focal points of the game, Adventure Mode and Online Play, are incredibly weak. Adventure Mode should be renamed 'Walk around and unlock characters Mode'. It's boring and lame. Online Play is crap. It's laggy. Very very laggy. So laggy that at one point I thought that I was using a dial-up connection. Then I remembered that this isn't 2002 and the speed should be wicked fast. But was it? NO. NO IT WAS NOT. The option to play 'With Anyone' only works about 40% of the time, and when it does you feel as if a bear has just walked up to your Wii and punched it in the crotch. (Haha. Wii. Crotch. Haha.) The characters are all totally lame. The only exception would have to be Toon Link, and he has a stupid girly name. At least be called the Hero of Winds or something. Jeez.
N+ Summary
Game: Super Smash Bros. Brawl Developed by: Nintendo Genre: Fighting Players: 1-4 Release Date: Out now Supports WFC: Yes Video available: No
N+ Points
N+ Toon Link is mildly acceptable as a fighter. N+ I don't have to wonder what it's like to be tortured anymore.
N- Points
N- The game totally sucks. N- Online Play is like trying to rob a blind man but then finding out that it's really only a man wearing sunglasses. He then proceedes to break your leg by wrapping it around a car bumper. N- Adventure Mode is stupid and boring, should be called Sleep Mode. N- Other people like it, so it has a moronic fanbase. N- It has a fanbase.
It seems to be a possibility. Amazon.com has GH:OT listed for 50 American bills with a release date of June 22nd (just in time for my birfday \o/). Gamestop has it listed for the same price, but with a June 29th release date (just after my birfday ). What does this mean? Well, someone has the 'general' information. June 2008. And considering the actual game should be about $35 with the Guitar Grip being around $15, it sounds like the right price. Yeah, it could certainly be cheaper, but this price is to be expected. I myself would love to get it, but I'd have to see the song list first before I make up my mind.
There are a whole bunch of fan-made remakes of retro games out there, and not many are good. The exceptions (that I can think of) include Super Mario Galaxy DS and what I'm about to show you. A guy from Argentina has been working on a remake of Metroid 2 for the past three years, using Game Maker. It is visually stunning, and I can't wait to try out the tech demo. You can get updates about the project over at Milton's blog. You can also download the tech demo of this game at either YoYo Games or 64Digits. And here's a video for you to love.
N+ Update - Due to circumstances beyond my control (my mom), I can't play Brawl anymore today. So lutherjw will (probably) still be online hosting brawls. If you feel like it. I'll still be in the chat room though.
That's right folks, tonight marks the first of WEEKLY Tuesday Night Brawls here at N+! We will be fighting from NOW until 10pm EST. So for FOUR HOURS, then we'll call it a night. Has everyone traded friend codes in the Brawl thread? Good!
Now get on Wi-Fi, get into the N+ chat room, and let's Brawl! (Instructions on getting into the chat room can be found at http://my.opera.com/Nplus/blog/chat - I hope to see everyone there!
Sea's in London, so I get to do the post today. \o/
NEW+ OPERATION WOLF - NES (500 Points)
In this NES action game, a port of the hit arcade original, you play a crack Special Forces soldier tasked with parachuting into the South American jungle on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages. Playing from a first-person perspective, you control a gunsight and use your machine gun and grenades to take out enemies. Each of the six missions has a unique objective, with your performance in each mission affecting the ending. But it's not enough to simply scatter the screen with bullets - you've got to make sure you get as many hostages out of there alive as you can! The game features different ending sequences (and cash bonuses for your troops!) depending on how many hostages you manage to save. Will the President of the United States be happy with your performance? Put your finger on the trigger and find out!
NEW+ Super R-Type - SNES (800 Points)
A galactic battle begins! The BYDO Empire of mutant extra-terrestrials is back - with evil intent and awesome power. Now the evil Empire is poised to launch a new attack on Earth. Only the revolutionary R-9 stands between these monsters and doom. Are they invincible? You'll need lightning reflexes, intuitive moves and a big dose of cosmic luck to hold your own! "R" you ready? The mutants "R" ready for you!

So, a little game was just released called Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it has an online mode. So we figured, why not have a weekly Brawl night? Every Tuesday night lutherjw and I will be hooked up to the Nintendo WFC, eagerly awaiting some opponents. If you would like to participate and have a good time fighting as your favorite Nintendo characters, then head on over to the forum thread I have set up, and post your friend code.
We will be online any time between 6pm and 10pm EST.
Please note, there will undoubtedly be some hidden characters, so remember that. We can't help it if anything gets spoiled for you.
We will be chatting between matches in the N+ chat room. It'll be loads of fun, can't wait to play you guys.
There's an upcoming Wii game called Victorious Boxers Challenge. It seems like an 'upgraded' version of the boxing found in Wii Sports, without Miis. There are three modes of play - Swing Mode, which seems like it will be the same controls as Wii Sports boxing. Pointer Mode, which seems as if you will point the remote at the screen and push buttons, and finally Classic Controller Mode. That seems pretty self-explanatory. In Story mode you work your way through the ranks to becoming the Champion, and in Sparring Mode you can fight amongst friends. There are even 25 different boxers and 10 different levels.
This was the result of a bet with Khadgar. We bet that he couldn't beat me in Super Smash bros. Brawl, and needless to say....he kicked my butt quite a few times this evening. However(!), we were pretty equally matched.
Today's update is a bunch of screenshots that sent in to Sakurai from players, and he has hand-picked 99 of them to show off at the Dojo. I have placed them all after the break, and some look really good.
Note: This will be the last Dojo Update you see at N+. We will no longer continue posting these, because the game comes out in two days and there really isn't any point. If you would like to continue seeing Dojo Update, I think that Sakurai may continue updating the Dojo. Thanks.
Here's to hoping that there's only one more update tomorrow. I'm getting kind of bored posting these every day. Anyway, today's update is a character is a buddy from back in the day. Hit the jump for screenshots and information.
Today's update is a list of the items in Brawl. There are 49 of them with descriptions and pictures and everything, so I won't post them here. However, if you would like to see them, go to the Smash Bros. Dojo. NOTE: This is the full list of items in the game, so there are some spoilers (if you call items spoilers), so click the link at your own risk.
