According to sales figures from Nintendo, Super Smash Bros. Brawl sold a whopping 1.4 million copies in its first week on store shelves, making it the fastest selling video game in NOA's history. That means that 120 copies of Brawl have been sold per minute.
I can't believe Nintendo is still using the Wii Would Like to Play slogan to advertise their games. Stick with what works I guess.
Three supposed commercials for Super Smash Bros. Brawl have appeared on YouTube. Two of them look somewhat real, and one just looks unbelievably fake. One of the commercials is posted here, and the two others are posted after the break.
Let's take a break from the past and look into the future. Grab your crystal ball because today, N+ is going to tell you what 1st party Wii game we're most looking forward to in 2008. There are several great ones coming, so this was a tough choice.
The nominees are: Mario Kart Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wii Fit
Holy crap. I'm excited and disappointed at the same time. On one hand, I feel like Smash Bros. sold-out/caved-in/did-it-for-fanservice. But as a friend pointed out to me: Smash Bros. is all about fanservice. To be honest, I'm just jealous that Megaman hasn't been revealed yet.
On the other hand, IT'S FLIPPIN' SONIC THE HEDGEHOG.
This was originally posted on the German version of the Smash Bros Dojo, which explains my awesome image-capturing skills to the right (Best reward for staying up late--EVER). As soon as I posted this entry, the English version of the Dojo updated with the Sonic news. Some pictures [posted after the break] and a video has been posted on the Smash Bros. Dojo Website. I lost count of how many times I watched the video.
Sonic's back with his patented spin dash and hopefully some speed that will give Fox McCloud a run for his money. He's also able to use his classic springboard (which includes the epic *SPROING* noise) and a dastardly downwards dash kick. His Final Smash allows him to gather the power of the seven Dragon Balls Chaos Emeralds and turn into Super Sonic.
Another Fire Emblem update today from the Smash Bros. Dojo. Remember the castle from all the teaser videos? Well it has a name now. Castle Seige. It is an enemy castle in the midst of war, but it is no specific castle from any Fire Emblem game. I find it sad that they went the generic route with this one. While it is very visually impressive, I would have much rathered to fight at the Crimean castle.
You start out fighting on a castle wall, but as time passes the scenery changes. You fall through the floor and end up in a hallway. The platforms are being held up by royal statues, which you can actually break to pieces. Think that's the only scenery change? You're wrong. After even more time passes, you will fall into the Underground. No news yet as to what the Underground really is.
Smash Brothers Brawl, Ooo I get so excited thinking about the crazy battles that will devour all my free time! How am I supposed to play awesome games this winter when there are awesome games to be played!? seriously! With Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and No More Heroes all fighting for the living room, I don't know if I am going to be able to beat any single one of them before Animal Crossing Wii comes out, and once that hits, I don't think I am ever going to sleep.

Hey, it's Captain Seagull again, with a few more updates collected over the last few days on Super Smash Brothers: Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. The official website is keeping to it's promise as to bring us a steady stream of news since it's debut. Last time we brought you the Gooey Bomb, Mario, and Link. This time we got a few more suprises...
Even though the Official Smash Site had updated a couple days ago, it wasn't enough to bring you a full news post. However, while checking my mail this morning I came across one more update they did today delivered by N+ member Melllic. He was excited about Smashs Bros' NEW item, the Gooey Bomb. So here are three updates the site has for you to check out.
Ok, So for sometime today the Official Smash Bros. Website had an image and nothing more that said "Starting Today (Japan Time)". They stuck to their promises and only allowed it viewable to the Japanese I guess because after midnight the US version opened up as well! (still no release date news though...)
So Starting Today we can check out the new format, Which will include character menues, Game Modes, Items, and special notices straight from director Masahiro Sakurai himself! - Basically he has a really detailed blog page about Smash Bros going on...
