Yep, that's me with my brand new Hotdog Hat! And yes, that is a dog eyeing it down... It's the current downloadable content item for the Animal Crossing on Wii (July 4th - July 18th). I guess since it's a North American distribution that makes it only for City Folk, and not Lets Go to the City players
Oh well! If your North American friend has the hat, they can order you another one from Nooks! haha! YES! Anyway read more... for the details to get the letter from Nintendo with the hat included as a present.

For those of us still playing Animal Crossing on the Wii, this is awesome! For those of you who haven't visited your towns in a while, stop in and check out your sweet bed-head and then log on to WiFi because today is the last day to get your Shamrock Hat! It almost slipped by!
Also in extremely related news, there is
an official North American site dedicated to telling us about the DLC offer! Check it out!
N+ UPDATE: I guess this picture will automatically update when the new item is coming out! Kicky Sweet!

Animal Crossing Wii was released a few days ago, so a good number of you might have it, and I am sure its going to be a hot holiday item too. I have created the
Animal Crossing Forum where we can all help each other finish bug or fish collections or share funky stories about how to end up in Resetti's lair, or a neat trick you can do with two shovels - things like this. I have also moved the the AC:Wii friend code forum to this area too, so you can share AC:Wii friend codes if you are so bold. If you don't want to give it to everyone just post what city you are from with what fruit, and you can set-up private message invites with fellow N+ers.

From here on out I am going to call the game "Animal Crossing:Wii" because of the different names the game has across regions

- But to the point, a few of us have been running into a few photo limitations within the games snapshot feature. When I first ran into it it made me think my SD card was broken or something. DON'T PANIC if you get this message when trying to save a photo to your SD Card:
There is no SD Card in the Wii. Please insert an SD Card into the Wii and try again. For some reason certain photos cannot be saved, who knows why.
Some useful tips with photographs:
- You CAN photograph and save your friend code screen!
- Using the Photo Channel on the Wii you can view all the photos saved to the SD Card from AC and send them to the Wii message board, color on them and all that - no need to mail them from town hall! Try this with a photo of your friend code, and send it to your Wii buddies!

animal crossing, fishing, city folk, seagull

There is a fishing tournament today in
Animal Crossing: City Folk. In my town of Rosewood, it's limited to carp only, maybe yours is different? Actually, do you even have a town yet? If you don't, just to rub it in, here is a picture of my winning catch! Did anyone else beat this size? What size was your fish?
The next in-game event will be on the 23rd, and its the Flea Market, be sure not to miss it! This is when you get to visit everyone's home and buy the items they have, and in turn, you can wait in your own house to sell the items you don't want - sure beats Nook's offers.

The
official website for Animal Crossing: City Folk has been updated and you can now check out all of the goodies. The coolest thing to get from the site is a free downloadable calendar application (Mac or PC) that displays all the special holidays in the game, like when the next fishing tourney is, or the next "Bug-Off" competition.
It looks like anyone who gets the game Sunday, and not
somehow earlier is going to miss a special fishing tourney that is going on Saturday! It looks like there is going to be a special fish to catch, and not just any fish for size.
One cool thing about the game that I recently discovered is that you can take pictures at any time and save them to an SD card, so you can mail it to your message board or friend's message boards. You can mail letters to emails and phones, but the game doesn't promise that everyone will recieve these pictures if you go that route.
- Woooo! I love my new town "Rosewood"!

Thats right! N+'s
Jayvee and
Captain Seagull have a copy of Animal Crossing: City Folk! Wal-Mart has broken the street date so some Wal-Marts are selling them today instead of Sunday! So if you want to get your Animal Crossing fix in before Sunday, go look at your local Wal-Mart!
If you have any questions about the game that you want me or the Cap'n to answer, ask away in the comments!
+Update1: Before you are allowed to play the game though you are forced to preform a Wii system update.+Update2: Using the DS/Wii communication technology, when you start a new game you are allowed to migrate your character over from the "Wild World" into your "City Folk" game. You will not have any of the items or bells or clothing you have from Wild World, but you will have the same hair style, and part of the City Folk catalog at Nooks will be ready! Also, your character does not get deleted from Wild World!

We have all been slightly confused on the nature of "moving between the DS and Wii" in
Animal Crossing: City Folk. And if you were not confused, then you were sure of something - that was WRONG, or if you were right, why didn't you tell us? Anyway we got clear news here:
Turn your DS on and put it in
DS Download Play mode. There is no need for
Wild World. In City Folk you will have the ability to move your character and his held items to the DS. DO NOT turn off the DS, just fold it shut when the download is complete. Now when you venture out of your house, and to a friends house.. in real life, you can then upload this character to your friends town to use! Anything that changes with your character will only be saved if you move the character back to the DS and back to your City Folk. But don't worry, should something happen like the DS gets turned off before you make it back home, you will only have to suffer the loss of whatever you did, and the wrath of Resetti. You won't lose your character, and will probably keep all the items you had when you left your town.
