Duck Season

, , , ...

As you can see N+ has undergone another visual transformation! I bring to you the classic Duck Hunt game in a more realistic styling! This isn't to celebrate the launch of anything besides the month of May (which by the way half the world is celebrating already, so NO when I posted this it was NOT too early).

Allergies are here and so are the ducks that swim in the parks and mountains we are allergic to! huzzah! if shooting the lake doesn't solve your allergy problems, try shooting the ducks?

If you like this header check out the N+ Design Gallery for a full wallpaper sized image!

N+ does not endorse shooting any ducks besides tin ones at carnivals

Happy Eas+er! + Update!

, , , ...

Happy Easter Everyone! N+ has a Yoshi Egg hunt underway! who can find all 7 8 Yoshi Eggs first!? In order to win you have to comment on this blog every place you find a Yoshi Egg (and provide links!) that look like the one in the banner, and please list all you findings in ONE POST!

+Update: HAHA! I had a typo! there are actually 8 (eight) Yoshi eggs on N+! Find the last one, it's funny because no-one found this one yet! Just to help you guys find it, the last Yoshi Egg is a BLUE Egg (flying Yoshi color)

Hint: ALL Eggs can be found on N+! And NO the one in the banner doesn't count!
Also, Moderators cannot post their findings! (but they can search!)

"Read More" for a Yoshi Egg found in real life in the city!

Dont you want-a? Want-a Font-a?

, , , ...

Have you ever wanted to do some sweet Nintendo Fan-Art but couldn't get the letters to look "just right"? Or did you want to print your own T-Shirt that said something like Nintendork? Well, N+ went out looking for a few fonts that will allow you to create the perfect Nintendo themed birthday invitation cards! or anything else that you want to do using the fonts!

This font pack includes:

Continuum: Comes with three different versions, a heavy, light, and medium build. Use Heavy to get the best effect, and grey in color for an even better match of the official Wii logo.

Gamecuben: Captital letters mimic the "GAMECUBE" portion of the logo, while lowercase letters emulate the "NINTENDO" part of the logo. Type ~ to get the Gamecube icon (like in the banner)

Pretendo
: This is version 2! Pretendo has been floating around the net for a long time as the best traditional Nintendo Logo font, and many of you probably have it. DELETE the old file and get this one, its a re-edit and looks much nicer! this guy claims to have made it.

All fonts will work with PC and MAC. Just un-zip the pack and take all the ".ttf" files to your font folder in the computer! For more video game fonts visit GameFonts.com (oddly enough i found this site AFTER i compiled these fonts for you)

N+ Design: Smash Brothers Brawl

, , , ...

March is Smash Brothers month (in the US anyway) so to celebrate N+ got it's face Smashed in! I just couldn't wait till Saturday to put it into effect! So here it is, N+ in Smash Brothers clothing... or wait, is Falco wearing Travis Touchdown's jacket!?

Sorry, N+ really REALLY loves NMH! And hey, this is fan-art right? Next month we got a Mario Kart fest going on, and Khadgar is getting something special whipped up for that!

So tell me what you think? Visit the N+ Design Shop to also get a wallpaper sized image of what you see above!

This My Opera Blog Design Is Full Of Nintendo Goodness

, , ,

Whilst browsing the My Opera Community, I came across this amazing blog design. Created by N+ member Karen, (aka Nerak, who also wields a mean zapper :D ), it is a superb tribute to Nintendo and Mario, and I love it. The animated sprites are fantastic, and it's well worth checking out.

We wanted to know more about it, and Karen kindly took the time to answer some of our questions:

N+: So, how did the idea for the blog design come about?
I'm a Graphic Artist/Designer by profession. My fiancé, Lonnie, and I own a Web Design/Development company and also a Hosting company. I do a lot of the graphic work for the companies. In my spare time, I use Photoshop and ImageReady as a hobbies. I'm always creating silly things with it as anyone who visits my blog and/or photo albums can easily see. Anyway, the layout I'm currently using took me a couple hours to complete. It would have taken much less time than that, but I decided to make my header animated, and animations take more time than flat images.

N+: I take it you're a big fan of Nintendo!
I've been a Nintendo fan since Nintendo's conception. I still own my very first NES system...and play it on a regular basis...as you can see by my default picture. (I'm 34, so I was in high school when the system first came out.) My kids who are 16 & 10 are now big Nintendo fans and they play the NES and the GameCube on a daily basis. Needless to say, I couldn't possibly be more proud!

N+: What is it about Mario and Nintendo that appeals to you?
What is it about Mario and Nintendo that I like? Hmmm...Pretty much everything. It's very user friendly, and I simply like the style of Nintendo's games over the other systems. I own a Playstation as well, but prefer Nintendo. In addition to Mario, I'm a hardcore Zelda fan. I can't seem to get enough of it. No matter how many times I beat a game, I never get sick of playing Nintendo games...which is something that cannot be said for other systems' games. Mario, though - not only is it a stroll down Memory Lane everytime I play, but it's plain ol' fun. When I die, I don't get all pissed off and want to punch stuff...instead, I see it as a challenge and cannot wait to go back and conquer it. :D

Thanks, Karen, and I hope we can see some more Nintendo delights from you in the future!

No More Heroes: Out Today!

, , , ...

Today in North America, Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda 51 launch No More Heroes!
All of our daily Nplussers know that most of the mods here are pretty pumped about this game, and have been doing our best to spread the Grasshopper Manufacture name around, we really love the studio and think that they have some sort of magical touch with the artwork that is video games. We have our Image Gallery all pumped up for you, collected Movies and Music for you to enjoy, Cosplay.ed as the main hero, voted it our most anticipated 3rd party game of 2008, and Captain Seagull Designed N+ to show off one of the main bad guys in the game, "Dr.Peace" (CSS by Khadgar).

P.S. "Dr.Peace" is also available as a wallpaper!

No More Heroes: Trailer

, , , ...

I need this game! and we know that .ed is pumped too! Suda 51 (five one, not fifty one) and his team Grasshopper Manufacture (producers of Killer 7 and upcoming Wii exclusive Fatal Frame IV) are the best third party designers out there, by far! Highly original work is produced by this group of people, and I am glad they are so young! I was used to Capcom being my favorite 3rd party producer for a while... until Killer 7.

Anyway what I got here is the Japanese Trailer for the game and a "poster" style image that is most likely going to be used as the box art! "Read More" to check it out...

It's a Vector Art, Mario!

N+ member deddo has made an amazing vector art of Mario from the Super Mario Galaxy box art. Really, it blew me away when I first saw it. Click on the image to view the full size, which is 20X6* times better than the smaller one.
