[/IMG]The voting polls are closed, the contest is over - and we didn't get 1st. Thats okay though we got 2nd! We got second place with 365 Photos, of course we did, we couldn't let them beat us, and they seem pretty attached to us as well
The voting closed with:
id taking first place at 20% of the votes and 125 votes total.
While we and 365 both got 19% of the votes and 116 votes total.
Next year it's ours!

It looks like this year we have a rival who is very powerful with the force!
Group 365 is battling with everyone it has to become #1 group! But we mustn't let that happen!
Join in the fight and vote for
N+ as the best group, and don't forget that we also have the
best blog design on Opera (every single month)!
Just look at the love their
members are shouting! - We can beat that right?! Vote and tell all your friends to vote too, and tell them to tell all their friends!

The main Opera Community page has a poll up now asking about what new types of blog themes people are interested in. As of my writing this, TV/Movies has first place with more than double the votes of several categories that are battling it out for second place ...and Gaming is one of them.
Voting for Gaming would help to:
+ Support Opera's efforts with the Wii and Nintendo DS browsers
+ Provide them with feedback
+ Help to attract more gamers looking for a community/blog site that caters to them
+ Get some Gaming themes, duh
Until these new themes are made, you can use this kicky grand Travis Touchdown / Beam Katana one that Opera made starring yours truly

To be fair, there were a lot of people that missed the deadline for the EvWiiwhere Challenge (originally today was the last day) because of crappy local weather this weekend. I received a few messages from some that convinced me to extend the time frame for submissions another week. While this may seem unfair to those who've already submitted something, it still gives you a whole additional week to get more submissions in yourself, increase your chances of having the fan favorite, and still gives you a longer head start on building up your votes. So no worries, this extension benefits everyone.
To participate, read the detailed original post that also details the voting and prizes. And share the love with banners and buttons!The new deadline for submissions will be the end of the day (globally) May 6th 2007.

Well, here we are, day one of the new MyOpera.
Some nice functional and cosmetic changes to MyOpera have had a nice effect on N+ here. Plus there is a special suprise for Wii browsers starting today, more on that in just a sec.
If your in a browsing mood, I'd recommend checking out:
- the new MyOpera front page with all of it's fancy new links

this blog post about some changes, featuring some kicky sweet references
- reading the devblog towards the end of the day to see what additional changes have and will occur as feedback rolls in
Some quick new features are in the blog side bar now, recent comments, member highlights, and my personal favorite, if you have a MyOpera page set to allow others to see if you're on you will show up in the recent visitors spot with a link to your info! Hooray for dynamic content!
Now, for those browsing on Wii, Fred has informed me that you'll see a visually enhanced version of N+ designed for Wii browsing. Smaller tag icons, larget buttons, font changes, and more will now make N+ on your TV a more user friendly experience. Many of these changes came from feedback from our members, and Fred made these changes here first! Thanks so much Fred!
Sorry for that terrible 'NEW!' icon, I thought it was the crappiest one, from a European Government site... I think. But it made me happy.
