Everyone get ready for the 2009 Halloween Costume CoN+est! This year, we have decided to open up the rules a little bit to get more people in on the fun. Just some basic rule changes though. The biggest thing we have changed is to open this to all video game characters! I know, I know, this is a Nintendo blog, right? We just can't contain our nerdy selves when we see other nerds in video game garb. You wanna be Master Chief and compete against Waluigi and Wario? Do it, we dare you! Are you a Sackboy fan? We bet you can't go toe to toe with Infernape! Oh, and what if you don't wanna dress up, but your puppy or kitty does?! DO IT! I swear if I see a pug dressed up as a Shy-Guy, I might die crying out of laughter! Oh, and the animals are allowed to pick any game character too. However, due to the complex nature of PC and Mac related characters and what IS or IS NOT related to the "game-machine" we will not be able to accept any characters from these "consoles". As you know, we also take costumes related to machines themselves (one very close runner up dressed as a Wii-Remote, another dude dressed as an item box from Mario), so items and physical real life relations count - just not from computers. Sorry guys a USB Keyboard costume is not up for entry (however we will still show the photos ).

So yeah, all you fans who wanted to go as a Sony, Xbox, or old time Sega exclusive can enter this year, and so can your pets! Just remember this, if you enter as a team, you win as a team - no triple prizes Pikmin Team! Enter together or as rivals!

I had to tear myself away from teaching mutated animals naughty phrases in Animal Crossing: City Folk (I seriously have AN ORANGE with CAT EARS living in my town) to post our 2008 Costume CoN+est winners.

While we didn't have as many entrants as last year, the quality was top shelf. Check em out in the 2008 Costume CoN+est Album.

2000 Wii Points goes to Zenyou with an adorable and impeccably detailed Infernape from Pokemon Diamond!

2nd and 3rd place were going to get 1500 and 500 Wii Points respectively, but as of this writing both CaptainSeagull and Jayvee's Waluigi and Wario costumes (right down to the shoes) were in a dead heat, so they're each gonna get 1000 Wii Points each.

...buuuutt, since I like em both so much, I'm gonna throw in some extra. Both get 1500 Wii Points each instead. Wario greed happen.

It's a little less than a week away from Halloween and so far there have been no submissions to the 2008 Costume CoN+est . I guess we are curious as to if you plan to enter or not. Are you halfway done with the costume? Fully finished and waiting? Need a camera still? Not going to enter? Let us know!

I think that the prize system this time is perfect for a guaranteed delivery, and is also awesome because you don't give out your address if you are afraid of that kinda thing. Tell us your thoughts on the contest, anything we could do better, a specific reason for not entering? Or do you like the idea, and are trying to get your buddies to enter?

N+ is going to have our second Costume CoN+est! Last year was awesome, but because it was our first one we had a problem with getting Opera to deliver the prizes they promised.

This is the first year that N+ was able to do the costume coN+est, and it turned out great! It seemed for a while that there were a few entrants, but in the final minutes (LITERRALY!) entrants finished up the touches on the costumes, and submitted photos!

First off, let me say that you members voted .ed into ring, and myself out - THIS was the only purpose of the member poll! The N+ moderators had an almost impossible challenge of deciding on who was first second and third! we had ties the entire time in our own private poll, until the last second!

Happy Halloween N+! While N+ has been around for last years Halloween day, we really had nothing going to celebrate it with all of you. So this year can be called our first Halloween right? Anyway I hope most of you are out grubbing up candy, remember while trick-or-treating to use a pillow case for your goody bag, those never rip and hold a ton of cany! for the older audience who can no longer get candy from marching in awestumes, I at least hope you are playing games like Resident Evil 4, Dimentium: The Ward, or Manhunt 2 to celebrate.

Also I have a question for all of you. Ed and I were discussing how to judge this years costume coN+est. And we thought it would be fun if we could also enter. But who would judge? well, we figured it out! If you guys are ok with moderator entries than what we would do is have everyone who is an N+ Member vote in the picture comments. Each member can vote for their favorite costume (not there own) with a 1, 2, and 3 place. so in essence tell us who you think is the best, the runner up, and the 3rd place. OR we could have a poll on the side! but there may be dificulty tracking votes that way :/

Anyway please leave a comment with how you think this should be judged, if mods can enter. I think if mods can enter it actually makes it more fair for members who happen to be friends with the mods, that way noody feels like we voted for theirs out of friendship. This is just for fun everyone!
