This. Is. Neat. A DS demo that you can play without leaving N+. Anyone else think this is a good idea? Does it cheapen the technoogy of the DS to see it's games playout in flash? Thoughts? via www.ace-attorney.com/aj/
You may have heard this already, but Super Mario Galaxy demos should now be in retailers across the USA. I just called my area GameStop to confirm and they do have it in the demo unit. My area is usually the last to get anything, so chances are most retailers have it available. From what I've heard, this is the full game, not just a demo, so I'm heading out tonight to go play it!
On a related note, all Wii kiosks should now feature tethered controllers (as pictured) so you shouldn't have to give your ID just to demo the game. That means all you under-age Mario lovers out there should have no problem getting your dirty little paws on the game.
Today was a sign. It was a sign from Wii. It all began as I decided tooday was going to be the major day of buckling down the college work. I went to the public library to begin writing a paper on Humanism and the Person-Centered theory od personality. The library closed very early, at around 5. Well, a Chipotle was near, and my cousin (Dr.Z) and I wanted dinner, so we drove to it. walking in we noticed a pecular blue light comming out the video game shop next door. It was a Wii demo unit!
We forgot about the dinner and ran inside. BOOM! the knock to the jaw was that it was very very very tiny! It looks ginormous in pictures compared to real life. The man playing Excite Truck was kind enough to retrieve his ID and turn in the Wiimote so we could give it a shot. I was overjoyed to have thrown my entire wallet at the EB clerk in order to hold the even more Wiidiculously small remote! He laughed as he put my wallet in a desk drawer. The weight felt nice, the plastic smooth, and the wrist strap... like a wrist strap. The clerk made sure to mention how it had to be secured in order for me to play the demo. I complied almost too fast.
I get back to the machine and immediately try to point at the tv. It didn't work cause excite truck doesn't use the pointer, I forgot. Well I made my way through 2 races before turning it over to my cousin. He went 3 and we decided to turn it in. BUT WAIT! we spied a second (2!) Wii remote in the drawer and asked if we both could give it a whirl, he said sure, and we VS'ed eachother, I won. and I hit the 'home' buttton...
I lit up like a christmas tree! A little hand appeared and moved across the screen. My hand. My hand that said player 1. Oh dear, a second 'player 2' hand was buzzing around as well. One of us chose to go back to the Wiimenu, so we did, and found ourselves creating Mii's in a flash.
Dr.Z had created 'Stroker' from "stroker and hoop", while I created a female charactor by the name of Violet. We played with the whistle options and had even placed our Mii's into player 2's wiimote! BTW, 'moved' is the wrong word, it really was copied.
Too much fun, the next thing we did was click disc channel. It worked and showed us Excite Truck. Excite Truck had this greyed out but readible option under sound:SD CARD. amoung SFX and Music volume.I bet custom SD tracks are an option.
After tearing myself away from it, I walked away with a realization. "Wii just told me to finish my psychology paper before the Wii-lease.
Today on break I stopped by the local EBGames and found their, holiday shopping guide. Yes, it's packed with Wii stuff and the proces, things you and me and we already know pleanty about. But the big surprise, the one I want to share with you all, is that Wii are coming to malls around the country soon!
From November 15th - Jan 13th Wii will have stations placed in the following Westfield malls...
Santa Anita / Arcadia, CA Topanga / Canoga Park, CA Camino Real / Carisbad, CA Fox Hills / Culver City, CA Parkway / El Cajon, CA North County / Escondido, CA Palm Desert / Palm Desert, CA Galleria at Roseville / Roseville, CA MainPlace / Santa Ana, CA Valley Fair / Santa Clara, CA West Covina / West Covina, CA
Connecticut Post / Milford, CT
Brandon / Brandon, FL
Fox Valley / Aurora, IL Chicago Ridge / Chicago Ridge, IL Louis Joilet / Joilet, IL
Chesterfield / Chesterfield, MO West County / St. Louis, MO
Garden State Plaza / Paramus, NJ
Sunrise / Massapequa, NY
Great Northern / North Olmstead, OH Franklin Park / Toledo, OH
Southcenter / Tukwila, WA
It would appear that if you lived in California you could just trip and land in a westfield mall, but if you live in Colorado you won't have any luck finding one.
The good news is that EBGames / Gamestops, are supposed to be getting their demo units before the 13th! Yep, the manager at my EB said so today when I picked up the guide and changed my pre-order from Elebits to Excite Truck.
But I wanna tell you guys anyway! HAHA! my buddy at EBGames really made a big deal about telling me in whisper tone away from his store. So here I am yelling it around the world, EBGames are supposed to be getting their Wii demo stations in THIS week! GASP!
Thats right my friends, this is no trick for the trick-or-treet-street-week, its all treat! Go bananas in your local GStop or EBGames this week, and while your at it, steal the Wiimote! haha! the crazies don't have them succured to the station!
- Captain Seagull
P.S. Neither I nor "N" advocates theft in anyway besides digital rap music
