No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, even though we have seen nothing but a teaser trailer, is already blowing my mind away! Suda51 + anything = amazing, we already know this. And when that "anything" happens to be a franchise that is already proven to be amazing created by 51 in the first place you just KNOW it will rock the house down.
Anyway the news ... this is important for Europeans... is that Desperate Struggle will have two different versions released in Europe. Mild and Extreme - names probably not included in title anywhere. The Mild version will pretty much be what Europeans remember from NMH, enemies exploding into ash and dropping $LB everywhere. The Extreme version will include blood. Will it be lots of blood? Will it be The crazy blood-fest that North America had the pleasure of swimming through? It hasn't been really "confirmed", but there still might be a few differences between Extreme-Euro and North American versions, check out what Suda51 says:
We won't be able to make the same game for all territories, for Europe, we're going to release two versions. One extreme version, and one with less violence"... With No More Heroes 2 we want to please the fans too. I want the European users to be able to experience the extreme version... When I first had the concept, I had both the bloody version and the milder version in mind, So when I worked on the US version, it wasn't a problem for me to make, but when I made the Japanese version, I needed to rethink it a little bit. But I did both at the same time.
So how-a-bout that? Everyone is happy! Europeans can get blood on their hands and Ace can keep clean! Huzzah!
I need this game! and we know that .ed is pumped too! Suda 51 (five one, not fifty one) and his team Grasshopper Manufacture (producers of Killer 7 and upcoming Wii exclusive Fatal Frame IV) are the best third party designers out there, by far! Highly original work is produced by this group of people, and I am glad they are so young! I was used to Capcom being my favorite 3rd party producer for a while... until Killer 7.
Anyway what I got here is the Japanese Trailer for the game and a "poster" style image that is most likely going to be used as the box art! "Read More" to check it out...
Honestly which of you gamers over the age of 17 will NOT be getting No More Heroes? It already from what little we have looks so original that it is owed respect by at least playing it once. This is my most anticipated 3rd party game to come out ever I think, easily this year. Anyway I just got a hold of a few more screenshots that feature mainly the places within Santa Destroy. They also came with a map, additional character artwork, and images that show off how game mechanics like accepting missions and buying/changing Travis' outfit! The No More Heroes Gallery is loaded up and ready for action!
So about a month and a half ago I had the idea that the 6kb of internal memory in the Wii Remote was for some sort of personalization of the remote itself.
A recent article in N Gamer magazine just confirmed this, along with news of a slightly smaller sensor bar, that downloaded games would be on your SD card, but only work on your system (so others will have to get thier own games), and that Spore will be on both DS and Wii with seamless gameplay between each, allowing users to edit "on the fly."
edit: Due to lag I had not seen this blog post prior to one I wrote on the same subject. However 2 additional things were left out that I will post here.
60 hour battery life on 2AA
30 hour battery life on 2AA (motion sensor usage) [The Captain]
And if you haven't seen this video yet, it's for HEROES, a Wii game by Grasshopper (Killer 7) and Suda 51. Espen, new Opera Community Moderator, was checkin out so Wii footage and sent it my way. It's not the newest video out there, but since it was never posted here, I decided to throw it in the Wii Update.
