Resident Evil: Revelations (or Revelaitons for some of us) came out yesterday in North America, and after a couple chapters I am happy to report that the feel of the game can be placed right between RE1 and RE4. By which of course I mean creepy, spooky, and thrilling like the original, but still with action controls and the highly successful camera angles and views from 4. I am not using a Circle Pad Pro, and so far, no problems. Here's the launch trailer...
Whether you're anticipating the arrival of Nintendo's latest handheld or not, you may take interest in GameStop's launch promotion. This includes a preview event being held in the stores and a contest to win a 3DS and one of 310 GameStop gift cards.
The system launches with some awesome specs, but only "eh"-decent games unfortunately. Some are good, while others are just not impressive at all. Remember though that Pokemon Black and White MIGHT count as a 3DS-game... in which case you now have a killer launch title. There are thirty games coming in the "launch window" though (which closes at the time of E3). The list as found on joystiq:
First-Party:
Pilotwings Resort Steel Diver Nintendogs + Cats
Third-Party:
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition The Sims 3 Madden NFL Football Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Ridge Racer 3D Super Monkey Ball 3D Bust-A-Move Universe Samurai Warriors: Chronicles Asphalt 3D Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D Rayman 3D Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
And we all love our sushi just as much as chopping and slicing and impaling and exploding and... humm... sorry, got distracted there. MadWorld is finally seeing a Japanese release this Winter, so that would only leave Germany out of the MadWorld map. Sorry guys, blame your activists.
However, the game, although GREAT and fun, did not do so well on sales over here at the States (or anywhere else, actually), so Sega has let this one go and handed over the publishing duties to Spike, a company with quite some experience with blood-soaked titles in their past.
It has sold a ton of copies in Japan, it has piqued our interest ever since the first few screens came out, and we've been waiting for it to cross the ocean and make it outside of Japan. Well, finally, Capcom and Nintendo have announced that Monster Hunter TRI is making it into America and Europe, and also have confirmed a Q1 2010 release.
Nintendo has announced its game lineup for the following months, which kinda makes up for the bad news about their overall earnings dropping. So, here you go. Remember, this is the US lineup; for more info on other regions, make sure you visit Nintendo's official press release.

Can't wait for Red Steel 2, Ubisoft's Wii-Motion-Plus-only, long-awaited, crazily-requested sword/gun game? Well, it turns out you CAN wait a bit more.
Originally slated to be released this fall, now it turns out that Ubisoft has pushed back the launch a full season, now stating that the game will be hitting shelves on "Q1 2010". No concrete reasons were given to justify the delay, though. But don't worry (too much); Ubisoft still has some interesting games coming out this fall, such as the cute Raving Rabbids Go Home, or the green fighter, TMNT Smash-Up, and Shaun White's newest adventure.
UPDATE: There's now a named culprit for the delay: bad sales.
I want my downtown to turn into a beach (Or that Nintendo would even consider launching ANYTHING in my town ). The guy taking this video is kinda boring, but I'm sure you'll get an idea of what goes on @ New York Sports Resort.
Well, I don't know about you guys, but ever since I saw the first report about what Scribblenauts was shaping up to be, I was interested in the game... VERY interested. And after seeing the many demos and videos out there, it hooked me up even more.
Now, after a VERY LONG wait, they've finally set a US release date: September 15th. Thank you. THANK YOU!
Since the hype around Kojima's announcement on the 18th is nearly saturated with Metal Gear Solid talk, we thought it'll give you a break to ponder about this new teaser from developer From (yeah, I know it sounds weird... from From... why did they name it that?)
The site only shows two doors cordoned off by a red ribbon, with a clinging sign that states the announcement will happen on the 22nd. So, let's see what THEY are cooking up. Should we be excited?
From is responsible for the Tenchu and Armored Core franchises, and since Tenchu: Shadow Assassins didn't exactly get the greatest reviews, I'm not exactly sure this is going to be a good announcement. What do you think?
UPDATE: Famitsu has revealed 'the secret' in advance; it is a bunch of Tenchu and Core PS2-to-PSP ports. Sorry, no Nintnedo news this time.
Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars' official site, officially launched today. Peep it out, it looks very nice, shows off the game pretty well, a game I will get, and has some big videos up. They also let you grab this cool widget with videos in it, we posted it here to show it off:
People long awaiting this one can rest now. Nintendo has officially dated Punchout's American release: May 18th. There's also a release date for Excitebots, a kinda sequel from Excitebike, slated for release on April 20th.
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, part of the New Play! Control series, will be released on May 4th.
Also of note, The Legend of Starfy, a series which has been popular in Japan since 2002, is coming to America this June on the DS.
You can check the full list after the break.
Through the list, I regret that The Conduit was pushed back all the way to June, instead of March, as it was initially planned. Bummer.
Alas, there are still some good ones, like Boom Blox Bash Party somewhere in the Spring, DanceDanceRevolution Disney Grooves on April 2nd (OK, maybe this is just a personal favorite...hehehe), Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings also in late Spring, and of course, the best game ever, the one we've all been waiting for and that everyone should go buy: Hannah Montana The Movie in April!!! (Insert sarcasm here)
Continuing with the DSi momentum from this week, now it's the turn for Europe's DSi release: it will happen on April 3rd, just two days before the US release. And that's not all, available colors will also differ, for Euro folks will be able to choose from the black or white versions of Nintendo's new portable system. Now, Nintendo "doesn't set" retail prices, but stores are already listing theirs at GBP 150 (A little over US$200). Congratulations, Europe... but sorry about the price; you always seem to be paying more for things . Click here for the official posting. UPDATE: Australia (in a weird event) will get DSi even before Europe and America. They will get their systems by April 2nd. and will retail for AU SRP $299.95 / NZ SRP $375.00 (NZ price is based on current exchange rate). No color information was given by Nintendo AU's announcement. N+RSS
Boy, does the good news just keep on coming today! Nintendo has officially announced that Nintendo DSi will launch in America on April 5th. The portable wonder will go at retail for US$170 and will grant us not one, but two choices of color: blue and black. For some reason, they also chose this announcement to advertise the upcoming game, Rythm Heaven, wich launches States-side on the same date.
STRONG rumors from IGN say that the DSi may actually be launching this year in North America. Even more surprising, the system may launch in the FIRST half of the year, with several "industry insiders" citing April 4 as the offical launch date. . Did Reggie tell us lies, or did they change their mind? The rumored price point is set at $179.99. Nintendo gives the "defacto standard" reply to emails questioning the information:
We do not comment on rumors or speculation - Nintendo
Apparently the rumor comes from three different sources though, Hmmm... what say you?
When you close it with a page open, then open it that page automagically opens? On the program toolbar go through: Opera > Settings > Preferences. In the "General" tab, you will see "Startup". Select how you want that to operate ;)
