In the USA the only way we can get a Metallic Rose colored DS is to buy one with a paw-print on it in the Nintendog Bundle, or to import one. But soon, soon like JUNE soon, Nintendo will begin shipping the color without the dogs, or their paw-prints all over it! Hopefully this means that at some point they bring the Platinum color DS to the states, but *sigh* if they do that I would have to own TWO ds lites at once... Advanced Wars started out on the Gameboy advance, was sort of spun-off as Battalion Wars on Gamecube, made it's way to the DS as a huge hit with Advance Wars: Dual Strike, sort of spun-off again on the Wii as Battalion Wars ii (BWii), and is now comming back to the DS with a much darker tale, and darker artwork and music to match. There is also a new vehicle in the game that looks super neat for a strategy game: The motorcycle with sidecar. I am very pumped about this game, and the release dates sort of snuck up on us into THIS MONTH:

The DS is getting the most awesome port ever! sure, sure, you say you hate ports, but really we all love them... as long as they get the controls right. Anyway Mortal Kombat 3 (the arcade edition) is due out in the US on November 12, 2007 and in Europe sometime in November 2007. The game supports WiFi and Local 2 player modes in both Mortal Kombat 3 and the included Puzzle Kombat game! reports also say that in both games you can switch the top screen and bottom screen displays.

EVENT IS OVER: YOU CAN NO LONGER OBTAIN MANAPHY THIS WAY + Update: Manaphy came with a special red Pokeball I have never seen before as well as trainer name "TRU" and a description that also says "Pokemon Event". It also comes with a ribbon that will not allow this pokemon to be traded over the Global Trading System!
If you did not play through Pokemon Rangers and do the secret missions to retrieve the egg that you can upload into Diamond and Pearl to hatch to get Manaphy, you can do the next hardest thing: Find a Toys R Us store and download one for yourself! Sounds easy right? well at least where I live the closest Toys R Us is two cities away. I had to drive there to get the legit Mew back in the day.
Anyway if you would like to locate the closest Toys R Us and download the critter for yourself (which I am sure will carry some sort of Nintendo trainer number) Just make sure you are there on Saturday, September 29th between 12 and 3PM. You will download him onto your DS through I am guessing a download station... instead of lines! Also as an added bonus you get $5 off any DS game when you download the pokeymanz.
Obviously have your DS charged as well as a copy of Diamond or Pearl (BOTH probably will get you 2 Manaphys). It is a good idea that you have a National dex, or at least the area dex.

The Brain Age 2 DS bundle was so popular because of it's Crimson and Black coloring that Nintendo has made it an official color in Japan. You can learn more at the DS Lite colour site, athough there isn't much to say other than the Release date, set for October 4, 2007. I like this colour, but I think the Black one looks even better.

There will be some special Psyduck available over the global trading network (Daisuki Club) from August 26th through the 30th for American players of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. These Psyduck may be considered royalty, you see they are being offered by:

Each Psyduck will come complete with it's Japanese name and Japanese pokedex entry! To try and recieve the Psyduck simply place a ponyta up for grabs in the network, thats what the Pokemon game creators are collecting I guess. The player must already have a Psyduck registered in his/her pokedex to be able to be eligible, and each director is giving out only 30 Psyduck each (90 total)!

If you are a Japanese player, you can log in during the same time frame to try and recieve an American Heracross with American name and pokedex entry from some Nintendo of America members, wouldn't it be sweet to have a Heracross thats all about "Kickin' a$$ and takin' names"!? Japanese gamers should place a Rosalia up for trade to try and recieve the special Heracross - I assume that all set-up steps are the same.
The Nintendo-owned Seattle Mariners just became awesome. After a year in development, and cooperation from Major League Baseball, Nintendo has rolled out a program where if you bring your DS to the Mariners' Safeco Field, you can download a program froma DS Download station that lets you watch live video, cue up replays, order food from vendors to be delivered to your seat, view additional MLB stats and get even more info right on your DS!
At $5 for one game, or $10 for five games, the service seems to be either a neat idea, or a bargain in bulk for some. According to Nintendo, while barely advertised, the service seems to have a decent ammount of interest behind it from fans.
While browsing though Play-Asia this morning, I stumbled upon a very bright bit of information. Nintendo will be releasing a bright bright bright yellow Pikachu edition DS Lite in Japan sometime during the next month.
Apparently, in order to actually get one, one has to visit one of the five Pokemon Centers in Japan between June 1 and July 1, and fill out an application to "win" the ability to purchase one. The winners will be notified via mail, and will then be allowed to go back and purchase their sunshine yellow systems.
Or I guess you could just order one fromPlay-Asia, come July 20!
