Tingle Surprise

, , , ...

Remember that mysterious Tingle game that Nintendo of Japan has been teasing for the last couple of weeks? Here's a surprise no one saw coming.

Whatever the title was ended up being a downloadable DSiWare title, which is available in Japan ... now. We don't know what the title actually is, but from the screenshots, it looks to be some sort of collection of mini-apps, like a calculator, clock, etc.

While we wait for more details, feel free to check out more images at ImageShack, and we'll be sure to keep you updated.

UPDATE: GoNintendo has scans of the latest Famitsu, which seem to show ... Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland 2! A new retail Tingle game - that North America won't ever get! Two Tingle announcements in one day, what could be better? Answer: a lot.

Nintendo To Release Black Wii This Summer

, , , ...

I have to apologize for that title ... It is happening, but only in Japan (for now).

When Nintendo first unveiled the Wii in 2004/2005, they showed a variety of colors: black, white, red, green, blue, purple, and more. Now, three years after launch, Nintendo is starting to make good on that promise with the release of a black system and controllers in Japan only. Priced the same as a normal white system, the black Wii will ship with a black Wii Remote and black nunchuk, and black classic controllers will also be available. The system will launch on August 1, 2009.

Nintendo also announced a red DSi for Japan, which I'm choosing to ignore because: 1) they release new colors like every week and 2) I STILL DON'T HAVE A FRIGGIN WHITE ONE. Ahem.

No word yet on either of these systems coming to other regions.

Check after the break for more pictures.

Wii Sports Resort - Two Games Revealed

, , , ...

File this one under: "Games we've already played."

Nintendo's official Japanese website has revealed two "new" games to be included in the upcoming Wii Sports Resort, and ... they're not new at all. Golf, previously seen in Wii Sports and Table Tennis, previously seen in Wii Play, are the two new additions, making a total of 5 that we're currently aware of. That leaves at least five more for us to speculate about.

We're sure the Wii MotionPlus accessory will add a lot of depth to the experiences, but we're still left wondering why Nintendo couldn't come up with anything new...

Wii Sports Resort will be released on July 24 in PAL regions, and July 26 in America.

Rumor: First North American DSi Pictures?

, , , ...

A member of NeoGAF named renzo recently posted pictures of his latest "pick-up" in the "February Pick-Up" thread. His pick-up? A North American DSi.

No one currently knows how renzo obtained the DSi, but if final boxed systems are appearing, it's a safe bet that the system will hit retail soon.

There's one more picture, of the instruction manual, in the NeoGAF thread, so you might want to check that out. We'd also recommend keeping tabs on that thread for the latest information (or you could just keep reading N+).

If these images are real, which they certainly appear to be, we wouldn't be surprised if they're linked to the IGN teaser we posted earlier.

E308: Animal Crossing: City Folk Fact Sheet, Pictures, and Trailer

, , , ...

If life were an endless vacation, what would you do? Go fishing, collect shells or watch fireworks with friends? Build a snowman, exchange presents with family or decorate your house for the holidays? Take a trip to the city, go on a shopping spree or visit friends from all over the globe? In Animal Crossing: City Folk, life moves at a relaxed pace, but the world brims with endless possibilities.
There's always something new to do. In the living, breathing world of Animal Crossing: City Folk, days and seasons pass in real time, so there's always something to discover. Catch fireflies in the summer, go trick-or-treating on Halloween or hunt for eggs on Bunny Day. If you're in the mood for something a little faster paced, take a bus to a new urban city area that's unique to Animal Crossing: City Folk. There you can catch a show at the theater or check out the sales at Gracie's boutique. But if you don't show your face back home for too long, your neighbors will miss you.

Up to four people from your household can live and work together to build the perfect town. Design clothes and patterns, write letters and post messages on the bulletin board for each other, or invite up to three friends to visit your town using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. With the new WiiSpeak microphone, it's like you're all in the same room. The microphone sits atop the sensor bar and picks up the conversation of everyone in the room to encourage a more inclusive experience.

Get to know your neighbors. The heart of Animal Crossing: City Folk is building relationships with the animals in your town as well as with other players. Befriend your animal neighbors by exchanging letters, gifts and favors. Animals can also move from town to town, bringing their memories and stories from their old towns with them. And since animals are notoriously loose-lipped, they spill all the juicy details.

Express your personal style. Customize your town, your house and yourself by collecting bugs, fish, fossils, art, furniture, clothes and accessories. You can also go to the salon in the city to change your hairstyle and get a Mii™ makeover. Plus, if you design clothes in the tailor's shop, animals will wear them and maybe even bring them to other towns.

Also of note is that the WiiSpeak accessory will be sold separately for $29.99.

Screenshots and video can be found after the break. Imagine 'Stuff teh Weasel' on Wii ... with voice chat! Win!

No More Heroes: Update

, , , ...

Suda 51 and team Grasshopper Manufacture (creators of Killer 7) are still hard at work on "No More Heroes", the highly styalized, violent, and if Killer 7 is any clue - HIGHLY UNIQUE Wii exclusive. It feels like it has been ages since we saw the first trailer hasn't it? Anyway I was browsing around the Official Website and found that there was some information that was "new to me". See I don't know if this is really insanely new at all but the site reveals two new characters I believe ar bosses, as well as a second Beam Katana, and shadow outline of a third Beam Katana. You can follow the link to the website, or check out the same images in our fresh No More Heroes gallery! The gallery is still small but has a few "screen grabs" I did myself from the opening flash animation on the site.

Happy April Fool's: Cruis'n (Wii) Screenshots Released

, , , ...

What? It's not April Fool's? The folks over at Midway must have missed that memo. Surely, this has to be a joke.

Maybe not. A batch of screenshots for the upcoming Wii exclusive Cruis'n has been released on the Internet. Here's one ... cover your eyes!

You can check out the rest of the batch after the jump. I can't imagine why you'd want to... There's also some screenshots from the arcade versions... I actually think they're better.

via NeoGAF

EDIT: As N+ users Melvin Garcia and drlaunch pointed out, the first screenshot I posted was not actually from Cruis'n, but from Gran Turismo 2. That pic was the in the GAF thread with the others (albeit a couple posts down), so I just assumed it was part the Cruis'n batch. I've removed it from this post, and I aplogize for the confusion. Thanks for keeping me straight guys!

Wii has without a doubt captured the world's attention. From the predictions, to the breaking news, the surprises, features, style, size, and games, Wii has become a household name just as fast as 'Nintendo' did in the mid 80's.

Everywhere you turn, there's a commercial or store display. Every magazine cover is plastered with Wii news. Every store is trying to get you to trade in for Wii games. Every website's got a Wii news story almost daily. Wii is more than a success, it is a cultural phenomenon. Wii is everywhere. Well... almost. Let's have a little fun with the general public!

| Instruction Manual
  • Be an N+ Member. If you aren't, Join Now.
  • Take pictures of the word Wii spelled out in public. Don't just take a picure of the word; find it in unnatural places, or make it yourself out of things you found there (see my two glorious examples below).
  • Post each picture as blogs to your MyOpera blog.
  • Include one of the codes below in your EvWiiwhere posts by pasting it in before or after the image. (use tags like Nintendo, Wii, N+, and more to help others find them)
  • Come here, and post a comment with a link right back to your blog letting us and the world know to check it out.
  • N+ Moderators will 'farm' the images we find from our users, and put them all in a private gallery. The gallery will be unveiled after we gather a bunch of images at which point everyone will be able to vote, or support, their favorites by using the built in voting system (:star::star::star::star::star:) and comments... the more votes, the better... so tell your friends to join N+ and vote!

| Power Ups
  • If you make 5 seperate EvWiiwhere posts in your blog (with 5 comment links here), we'll do a blog post on N+ highlighting your submissions, and of course, link it back to your blog for extra attention.
  • We'll look at the voting results and determine some winners, too. Expect some Nintendo and Opera themed prizes.
  • The more entries we get, the more we're going to be able to give away. So go nuts!
  • When the world downloads the Opera Browser for Wii, they may just find you highlighted in MyOpera.

The whole point is to show off how creative you can be, what you can find out there, and what you can leave for other people to discover, and for us to be able to link back to our readers' blogs in great number for once. N+ is only the sum of it's parts and we want to show off your blogs for once. Come up with the best images, and let us boost your traffic!

This is what an EvWiiwhere post should look like!

Wallpaper: Re-glued

, , , ...

Today I went into our wallpaper gallery and did alot of re-ordering. No, I didn't order any wallpaper from any factories, I simply put the wallpapers in a better order.

The Zelda images are all grouped, the Mario,Yoshi, Golf, Animal Crossing, Metroid, etc... are all grouped. This should make it alot easier to search for what you want! I hope you all enjoy, and dont forget to upload, don't worry about the order, I can get to that later, just post your favorite wallpapers!

It's Clever But Is It Art?

, , , ...

Behold the 8-inch Gameboy Blue Custom Qee, available from rotofugi.com. This über cool piece of artwork has been created by UK artist Jeremy Gibbs. Although the Gameboy doesn't actually still work, I think that this is great, and if I had a spare $300 (or won the lottery) I would definately get one of these for my desk at work. Whether it is "art" or not, is another question (apparently some of these QEEs go for around $1000(!). Click the pic for more photos.
