Starting today, everyone who has Pokemon Platinum can download Oak's Letter from Nintendo Wifi! This letter allows you to meet up with Professor Oak on Route 224 and capture the Event-Exclusive Shaymin! This Wifi event ends on November 8th, so don't forget!

How To:
Talk to the TV producer on the TV station third floor in Jubilife City. Normally he will ask you for a greeting for you to provide in battles however if you give him some keywords, he will activate the Mystery Gift function for you. The words are as follows:

Everyone Happy
Wi-Fi Connection

Save the game, then restart the system and Pokemon Platinum. Now, on the main menu, Mystery Gift will appear and will sport just one option at first, two if you have received a Wonder Card. You will usually choose the only option which goes to another menu that has three options and an exit; Get From Friend, Get From Wireless & Get from Wi-Fi Connection.

Choose: Get From Wi-Fi
After you have received the gift, you need to pick it up from the man in any PokéMart. Once Oaks Letter is picked up at the Pokémart, Save your game!

THEN if you want to go the extra mile you can take Shaymin to Floaroma Town to get the Gracidea Flower, this item changes Shaymin to its sky forme! It will be givin to you by a girl. Try using it on Shaymin! You can use the item over and over since it's a key Item, Shaymin will only change in Platinum, and at night, or when traded, or deposited in the PC, or when frozen she will change back to her original forme.

Its been a while since I posted, so its time to get back on track! Here is all the new info on from the last couple weeks for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, direct from Serebii.net:

* First, it confirms that the Apricorns come back. The apricorns a're stored in an item called the Apricorn Case. This means the following balls have returned, for reference here are their use:

o Fast Ball: Captures Pokémon that Flee
o Friend Ball: Increases Happiness of Captured Pokémon
o Heavy Ball: Captures Heavier Pokémon more successfully
o Level Ball: Captures Pokémon of lower levels easier
o Love Ball: Captures opposite gendered Pokémon easier
o Lure Ball: Captures Pokémon caught with the Fishing Rod easier
o Moon Ball: Captures Pokémon that evolve with the Moon Stone easier

* In addition, this time, you have the ability to grow berries yourself portabley within an item called the Berry Planter, using the SquirtBottle to grow them and
* Next, it reiterates Kanto's return in Heart Gold & Soul Silver and also shows there is a new Battle Frontier style facility to the west of Olivine City. Further details about this Battle Frontier have not been revealed
* It also confirms the National Park's Bug Catching Contest making a return. This contest features you having to capture the best Bug Pokémon you can.
* It also shows that Rayquaza is catchable later in the game at Level 50. Further details were not revealed but as revealed in June, it will require Kyogre & Groudon for it to appear
* It also shows that you have the Mystery Egg subquest from Gold & Silver. It is unknown if the Egg you receive will still be Togepi
* Finally, it confirms that the new area west of Cianwood City is a Safari Zone.
* Kyogre & Groudon both dwell in a cave like Rayquaza and like Rayquaza, they are to be found at Level 50
* Apricorns have another use. As well as making the new PokéBalls, you can convert them into juice in order to boost your Pokémon's Pokéthlon stats
* Three new Pokéthlon events have been revealed

o Break Block which has your Pokémon breaking blocks using their hand. This is controlled with the Touch Screen
o Change Relay, another race controlled on the Touch Screen. However, unlike Dash Hurdle, you only control one Pokémon at a time
o Push Circle is another match similar to RingOut Fight. However, you control all your Pokémon at once

* It also shows that you can customise the areas within the Safari Zone. Moving areas for quicker access should you need it to allow for easy access to areas if you're looking for certain Pokémon.

• Sail to Fullmoon Island and confront Cresselia, when it leaves it will leave Lunar Wing
  
• Return to the Boy in Canalave, wake him up, then board the ferry at the Harbor Inn

Choose: Get From Wi-Fi
Get from Wi-Fi is exactly what it says on the tin. Using the DS's Wi-Fi Internet abilities, the game connects to the Internet servers and looks for any Wonder Cards that Nintendo has put up. The first use of this feature will be from September 28th to November 4th when Nintendo gives away the Secret Key to Obtain Rotom's Forms over Wi-Fi.
After you have received the gifts, you need to pick it up from the man in the PokéMarts. This gives you the actual item in-game and the delivery man can be found in any of the small PokéMarts within Sinnoh so you can get it anywhere. Once the Member's Card is picked up at the Pokémart, Save your game!

N+ Update: iMatio, dropped us a big update, this event if for Platinum owners only, sorry for the excitement Pearl and Diamond owners .

N+ Update2: It looks like this event does open the ferry up for travel, so now you can visit the New Moon Island and hatch pokemon there to have a sweet "hatched at" location.

The official Japanese site for Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver is now up, and it boasts a bunch of Japanese writing, as well as character art, Pokemon art, and some NES screenshots like Totodile and You (boy version) at the Slowpoke well! Also, it looks like when you enter special places you get a small cutscene picture like in Fire Red and Leaf Green. As an example, they show-off the Bellsprout Tower.

The Latest CoroCoro magazine has been released in Japan and it features some nice new scans of Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver! It looks like there will be a lot of different Pokemon can be released from the Pokeball and follow you around (like Pikachu did in Yellow). The Area pictures that were first introduced from FireRed and LeafGreen return (When you enter an area and it displays a picture of the area you just entered). There will also be a Pikachu colored Pichu that will be given out at the newest movie, and it will be given a special event within the game (like Regigigas in Platinum).
