The tennis season is in full swing, and those unable (or, as in my case, not fit enough) to get out and hit a few balls around, can turn to their consoles for their tennis fix. Virtua Tennis 2009 is the latest iteration of the arcade classic to hit home consoles, and the Wii version takes full advantage of Nintendo's new MotionPlus feature. The prospect of 1:1 responsive gameplay and playing with Ana Ivanovic was more than enough reason for N+ to see what VT2009 can serve up.
We kinda likedChronos Twin for the DS. Whilst it's a rock-hard game, it was refreshingly original, and a decent platformer.
EnjoyUp have announced today that the game is being reworked, and will be shortly unleashed onto the Wii, via WiiWare. Yes, it may look a bit... dated, but graphics were never this game's strong point. It's all about the concept of controlling the same character in two spaces of time.
There's no definitive release date as yet, but if you fancy a challenge, and are a glutton for punishment, this game is one to look out for!
Last week, we wanted to know what other consoles you owned. It was one of the most popular polls we've ever run, so thank you for taking part! The full results can be found after the break, but it's clear that whilst you guys are clearly Nintendo fans, you do own other consoles.
It's a similar situation for us mods, and with this week's poll, it should become clear why we asked the question. We are considering expanding N+ to cover all consoles, not just Nintendo's, and we would like to hear your thoughts on this idea. We have gaming interests outside Nintendo, like a lot of you, and hopefully you'll enjoy reading about them here, as much as we would do covering them. We do realise that N+ has been a bit neglected of late, mainly due to changes in the mod's personal lives, but we hope that this will be the case no more!
In some respects this is the most important poll we've ever run, because it could affect the future of this group in a massive way.
So let your votes do some talking, and choose one of the following options. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
Would you like N+ to cover other consoles?
Yes, I would like N+ to cover all gaming news, reviews, and previews!
No, N+ has always been, and always should be, a Nintendo only group!
As always, votes can be cast in the sidebar on the right, and you must be a member of N+ to vote.
I'll reiterate than any comments, or justification of your vote would be very welcome!
The DS Download Service has to be one of the most overlooked features on the Wii. Why more companies, and indeed Nintendo, don't make more of it, I'll never know.
Though news has reached us that the EU's service has been updated, and there's some decent offerings to sample!
Ninjatown
MySims Racing
Mazes of Fate DS
I think I'm going to give MySims Racing a go. Beep beep!
It's been a while since we've done an "Everybody Votes" poll, but this one's important. Although we asked this question a while back, we want to ask it again!
Which of the following current generation gaming platforms do you own?
Wii
DS
DSi
PS3
PS2
PSP
XBox360
iPhone/iPod Touch
Other
As always, votes can be cast in the sidebar on the right, and you must be a member of N+ to vote. You can choose all options that apply, and whilst I know the iPhone is not specifically designed for gaming, it does have some cracking titles!
Whilst doing my early morning check of the happenings in the world (aka "Twittering"), and checking up on any exciting news that may have happened overnight (aka "checking my Game Trailers RSS"), I noticed that Google are paying tribute to Tetris' 25 year anniversary.
I know that, as Tetris was the game that came bundled with the GameBoy, it was one of the first Nintendo games I actually owned, and sure have a lot of fond memories of that tiny cartridge. It's easy to see why its appeal has lasted all these years, and it's probably up there in my top 10 games list.
Let's all take a few moments to remember this fantastic game, and pay tribute to its greatness.
Back in March, seaempty, everyone's favourite moderator announced that his wife, Pip, was pregnant. As of 7 PM on August 24, Chris and Pip are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Holly Elizabeth.
Everyone here at N+ is extremely happy for Chris, so be sure to congratulate him in the comments. Here's wishing you, Wifety, and Holly health and happiness.
This is the first in a severely doubtful regular feature. Today I "found" the Samba de Amigo Official Minigame, and it is ACE. By found I mean "pointed to it by a nice man at SEGA".
Go and play it. It's the best thing I found on the Internet today. And the Internet's a big place, you know.
EDIT: OMG I've embedded it after the break. I didn't think it was possible, but this post just got better.
It happens to me every time I get a game. I'll play it non-stop for days, weeks, even. And then I'll just stop. I'll stop playing it, and I'll rarely play it again.
It doesn't matter what game it is, or even its quality. Take Mario Kart Wii, for example. For me it's probably the best game on the console, but I haven't touched it in months. I played it everyday for weeks when it was released, got into the tournaments, the online racing, and absolutely loved it.
This sequel to the original International Karate (also on Virtual Console) pits three fighters against each other in fast-paced bouts of sparring action, featuring a typically British sense of humour.
NEW+ City Connection (NES)
Burn rubber across the world from New York to Tokyo in this thrilling mix of racing and platform action. You’ll have to contend with cops ambushing you at every turn, but luckily you have an arsenal of oil cans to give them the slip. And watch out for stray cats; they might have nine lives but you only have three!
NEW+ Neo Turf Masters (NEOGEO)
Tee off for arcade-style golfing action in Neo Turf Masters, featuring four different courses and six different characters to choose from, each with their own unique set of skills.
The updated list of PAL VC games can be found here, along with the NAVC games here.
WiiWare
None this week.

Read more for the clip in all its gory detail. If you're under 18 and watch the video, don't blame us for the consequences. The consequences being the Video Fairy that will come and kick your arse.
