Resident Evil Revelations: Launch Video

, , ,

Resident Evil: Revelations (or Revelaitons for some of us) came out yesterday in North America, and after a couple chapters I am happy to report that the feel of the game can be placed right between RE1 and RE4. By which of course I mean creepy, spooky, and thrilling like the original, but still with action controls and the highly successful camera angles and views from 4. I am not using a Circle Pad Pro, and so far, no problems. Here's the launch trailer...

N+ Theme: Jungle Pass

, , ,

I knew this month was going to be themed after Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater, but before I even had any idea of how I was going to draw it, I KNEW I needed to tile the background with snake skin, I was never going to get a better opportunity to do something so venomous to the site. After I was able to put together an image that tiled flawlessly out of a snake photo, I set to work on the actual art itself.

The artwork is more "watery" than any of the other artwork I have done thus far for the site, and it's because I really wanted to give it a nice style that maybe touched on the older artwork the Metal Gear games used to get treated with. It's a little similar, but a little different too, just like the re-make for the 3DS. It's the old game, with a ton of new features built in, and of course is eye popping 3D. I hope you enjoy what I am calling "Jungle Pass", my favorite part is the fact that Snake noticed he street-passed someone in the jungle (lucky jerk) and has to stop his mission to check it out - it was probably that real snake he doesn't notice next to him... and yes I know that you can't really see the green light from the back of the unit, and yes, I know the light turns off as soon as you open the system. Shut up.

As always, theres a big fat wallpaper sized version in the N+ art gallery. So tell me, what do you think?

Gold Pants Get: Resident Evil Revelations

, , , ...

Welcome to our first episode of Gold Pants Get! where we bring you QR codes or report on special events where you can get the elusive Mii characters who wear gold pants! Why are these Miis so special? other than being the best thing to happen to gold pants since disco, they are 100% official Miis created by or endorsed by Nintendo. You may have a Mr. Mii-amoto you are pretty proud of in your 3DS, but if it has gold pants - it means it's the real deal, the one made by Miyamoto himself. Remember, if you ever get these radiant characters, do not delete them! you can only scan them once!

In this episode I have four gold pants Miis for you to scan! They are the four leading characters in Resident Evil Revelations, and while they all have their Japanese names when you scan them into your system, they are the official Capcom created Miis. They were distributed in Japan via promotional posters, thankfully someone photographed crooked photos of them and posted them up. I straightened everything out for you though. While most regional gold pants Mii QR codes are locked out of other regions, these ones are not! so read more and start scanning!

RUMOR: Smash WiiU Character Leak

, , ,

This is a rumor, because some "Anonymous" mystery person posting in 4chan forums "leaked" some of the documents involving designs, character lists, descriptions, and even game-title "Smash Brothers Universe". We all know what it means to have someone in a forum say they have information and then release something like this, it doesn't mean squat until it's confirmed by Sakurai.

That being said let's jump into discussion at the supposed information, by reading more about who is in the game and what they can do past the break...

Limited Edition Snake Skin 3DS

, , ,

This is just a teaser image Hideo Kojima Tweeted of the device which will be a limited edition system bundled with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater... in Japan. No word yet on if this bundle is going to be available in other regions.

Just add that to the incredible list of special edition 3DS units Japan gets, that no one else does. But hey! North America has confirmed a new PINK one, so now you can get one to match your volleyball shorts, sun-glasses, and Mary-Kay Mercades Benz.

Mii Celebrity: Swapnote Nikki

, , ,

I really really hope that everyone who has a 3DS downloaded the free 3DS application Swapnote. It's super friggin' fun to send and receive notes from your pals, and even draw drawings for yourself just to watch them animate! Go get it in the 3DS eShop if you haven't already.

If you are like me then you found the "instructor" Nikki adorable, and wished that her little face would show up in more of your games where Miis make appearances, then you can smile a little brighter now, knowing that I created her Mii and uploaded her QR code for importing into your system. Just read more... past the post break for the QR code.

Nintendo Patching Skyward Sword

, , ,

I TOLD you they exist! patches for Wii games I mean. The world didn't think they were real, but I knew all along, mwahahahaha! For those of you who accidentally got stuck because of the Skyward Sword glitch, fret not, Nintendo will be (I swear this is their own words) "releasing a program that will repair save data for those who have their Wii connected to the Internet." - this means "patch". If you are someone who has a Wii console not connected to the internet, they got you covered too, you can simply "send your save data to Nintendo".

Please read more for the complete support details like, who to call, where to send files to, and when the *ahem* "program" will be ready for "repairing" your files, or how you can avoid getting stuck altogether...

Monster Hunter 3G Prints Money

, , ,

Monster Hunter 3G boosts the 3DS system sales into the best weekly sales number yet at 378,114 units. The game itself in just two days sold 471,055 copies, that's just shy of half-a-freaking-million. The 3DS is doing good now, it's safe to say, despite it's terrible launch. These are Japanese sales (duh).

Rumor: Gamestop Got Xenoblade Released

, , , ...

The rumor, because the source is some unidentifiable ninja ghost, is that Gamestop itself persuaded Nintendo to release the game in the United States, and is even helping with the publishing costs. They also say that Nintendo will be watching Xenoblade sales very closely as a gauge in deciding what to do with The Last Story, another fan favorite RPG destined to be released in Europe. It seems though the pre-orders for Xenoblade Chronicles are not going as well as Nintendo had hoped.

If you are one of the fans who said you would get the game if it came out in the US, I would say it that as gentlemen and ladies of your honor, you will need to buy it when it launches. Why not pre-order it too, just to help push Nintendo into releasing the other one earlier, if at all.
