In our very last blog post by Empty, Mr. Sea, Empty we took a look at The Conduit by unheard of development studio "High Voltage". The game is certainly something we should keep our eyes on. And this comes from someone whos entire library consists of Nintendo, Capcom, Grasshopper Manufacture, and Rockstar (and Rare if you count SNES and N64)!
The reason I say this is because of the tech-demo that High Voltage is showing off, it impressed the heck outta me, and I hope that this team will share their hard work with other develepment teams. It looks like Nintendo could be the doctor that helps give birth to many new studios because of it's HUGE install base, and cheap development costs. Of coarse good graphics mean nothing if the game plays poorly.
So the news is out, Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise ... is not only real, it's finished. Apparently there is no release date, but a risky quote from Rare pretty much sums it up:
And Viva Piñata DS is complete. We are just waiting for our army of university interns, illegal immigrants and small children from the local schools to assemble the hand-made cartridges that we'll be selling at all good flea markets this Sunday.
You know the story, two pokemon games sell awesome, make a third with small changes here and there and you got a billion seller on your hands: Red'n'Blue had Yellow, Gold'n'Silver had Crystal, Ruby'n'Saphire had Emerald, and It looks like Daimond'n'Pearl will have a Platinum! Who here is poke-pumped?! This, for now, will be counted as rumor, because it's not OFFICIAL, well at least not in official english, british or aussie. Anyway "Read more"... for the scans from Corocoro Magazine...
VC-Reviews.com says that Nintendo has recently had a press release telling USA what the first Wii Ware launch games are going to be! Although I find no mention of it over at press.nintendo.com, the list looks believable! Here is what is on the list:
FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: My Life as a King (Square Enix, 1 player, Rated E – Mild Fantasy Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes, 1,500 Wii Points) LostWinds (Frontier Development, 1-2 players, Rated E – Mild Fantasy Violence, 1,000 Wii Points) Defend your Castle (XGen Studios, 1-4 players, Rated E – Cartoon Violence, 500 Wii Points) Pop (Nnooo, 1-4 players, Rated E, 700 Wii Points) V.I.P. Casino: Blackjack (High Voltage Software®, Inc., 1-4 players, Rated T – Simulated Gambling, 700 Wii Points) TV Show King (Gameloft, 1-4 players, Rated E, 1,000 Wii Points)
Many people complain about the tiny bit of internal memory the Wii has. Many people haven't run into any problems, I myself still feeling that the built in memory is decent, still feel really good with the 2 gig SD card. The problems arise for everyone though, that "one day" we are going to have to move things between the SD card and Wii, deleting and re-downloading VC games, and backing up our gamesaves on the SD card and deleting them off the Wii temporarily.
I think all games should allow direct reading and writing to SD cards, this would greatly improve things for a while. Especially if a simple downloadable update gave us the option to use higher capacity SD cards then 2G. I hear some of these things are getting near 8G! Another simple downloadable update could allow us to use one of the USB ports on the back of the Wii for Jump Drives, or better yet - External Hard Drives. Well Nintendo is beginning to look at options like this, as they do hear what their fans are asking for, and while i think they downlplay the amount of fans asking for it a little bit, it still isn't a huge issue - just yet.
Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory. However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience.
- Satoru Iwata (President of Nintendo)
What are your thoughts? I think that if they let direct reading and writing to an external hard drive happen this would solve all problems. Hacking would become easier I am sure, but all Ninty needs to do is every once in a while release a software update that disables "popular mods" from working, thus rendering hackers time and money investments null.
I have been getting pretty pumped about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed since I saw the first trailer a long time ago in a friends apartment far far away, even while it was still unkown to what droid the force would come to. And since it has been confirmed to be coming to our little white R2-Wii2 I have been going crazy with all the control set-up news and geeky brain visions of nun-chuck force pushes, and Wii-Remote saber stabbing!
We got a video from G4tv showing off some of the 2-player dual mode. I actually enjoy the first section of the video more where it shows the on-screen cues and the corrisponding actions played out live. Exscuse me while I push my thick black-framed square nerd glasses with white tape around the nose piece back to my eyes, this is just geek-tastic!
As you can see N+ has undergone another visual transformation! I bring to you the classic Duck Hunt game in a more realistic styling! This isn't to celebrate the launch of anything besides the month of May (which by the way half the world is celebrating already, so NO when I posted this it was NOT too early).
Allergies are here and so are the ducks that swim in the parks and mountains we are allergic to! huzzah! if shooting the lake doesn't solve your allergy problems, try shooting the ducks?
If you like this header check out the N+ Design Gallery for a full wallpaper sized image!
N+ does not endorse shooting any ducks besides tin ones at carnivals
Interplay and the original Earthworm Jim franchise director Doug TenNapel have officially anounced that they are hard at work on Earthworm Jim 4! eh? EH!? you know what also "launches my cow"? the fact that a MOVIE is in the works! - oh and a new cartoon series. I personally don't watch tv anymore so it's a miss for me, but I DO remember that the old series was a blast!
Go ahead and freak out about the movie and two season cartoon series, but don't get your crow!s Psyched just yet. It hasn't been announced what system EWJ4 is coming to. But do think about this, Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 are both confirmed to be on their way to the Virtual Console... a clue perhaps?
Ok, really whos crow is Psyched besides mine?
p.s. EWJ3 was not done by original owners "Shiney" or current owners "Interplay". EWJ3 was produced horribly for N64 by Rockstar games.
A short teaser trailer showing off a bit of the "unleashed" part of Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as Official Site Dedication! bonus points to whoever can name the tune he is whistlen'
You are a nerd right? I mean you are at N+ right? well I guess I will at least let you away with dork. And even dorks know how friggen awesome it would be to have force powers and a lightsaber (or beam katana)!
We reported before about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but now we get a much deeper look at the game, and omigawd does it ever look fresh! Fricken A! in battle mode you can play as Luke from either IV OR VI! and VI Luke looks like a friggen Sith, only hes Jedi! OMIGAWD! Anywho check past the break for a sweet screen-grab-thingy of how controls will work! looks a tad bit complicating at first, but I bet like No More Heroes we will have this all second-nature after a couple battles, thats normal for padawan learners right?

N+ member WiiDark has found a site that works with ALL operating systems (MAC, LINUX, WINDOWS, etc...) which will convert any of the screenshots you have taken in Super Smash Brothers Brawl and saved to an SD card, and convert them into JPG files for use in the computer world! It's a pretty sweet site!
Snapshot Decrypter will allow you to open the picture files from your SD card straight through the internet. It is recomended that right after you upload the files and convert them that you save the file yourself, because the server space is limited where it will be uploaded, and you shot will most likely be deleted. BUT HEY! why not put them in you own Opera gallery, then share with us your silly shots! N+ has started it's own Smash & Grab Gallery, and Fancy Falcon is here to "kick it off"!
You can always find this website permanently in our links section too! I found my smash pictures ".bin" files under ...wii/app/RSBE/al.
... And so is Tingle! We thought it would be an excellent way to begin spring with flowers and sunshine and rupees and Tingle! Freshly Picked: Tingles Rosey Rupee Land is a DS game that came out in Japan, then Europe. That was it, and thats as far as it's going!
Except! HAHA! The American Captain Seagull and the European Seaempty have planned a super sweet game trade! Seaempty has shipped reshly Picked: Tingles Rosey Rupee Land to Seagull, and in return the Seagull is shipping the has-yet-to-get-a-European-release-date Professor Layton and the Curious Village to Seaempty!
I was thinking, should N+ try to set some kind of area up for you guys to do the same thing? you all know that DS games are region free right?! - anyway if we set this thing up we DEFINITELY need to have rules, and we really really need you guys to follow them! for instance some things that would HAVE to be followed:
Parents know what games you are trading away AND getting in return (and ratings!)
Parents MUST ok the exchange of addresses
These MUST be done with PRIVATE MESSAGES - NO POSTING ADDRESSES IN FORUMS. They will be removed.
Those MUST be followed, we don't want anyone getting in big trouble, including ourselves (N+)! But I think we could set up an official forum where you post what game you would like from what region, and what games you would be willing to trade for it! then you can contact that person via Private Message.
What do you guys think? should N+ get its butt in gear and try to find the perfect solution to make this happen?
Happy Easter Everyone! N+ has a Yoshi Egg hunt underway! who can find all 78 Yoshi Eggs first!? In order to win you have to comment on this blog every place you find a Yoshi Egg (and provide links!) that look like the one in the banner, and please list all you findings in ONE POST!
+Update: HAHA! I had a typo! there are actually 8 (eight) Yoshi eggs on N+! Find the last one, it's funny because no-one found this one yet! Just to help you guys find it, the last Yoshi Egg is a BLUE Egg (flying Yoshi color)
Hint: ALL Eggs can be found on N+! And NO the one in the banner doesn't count! Also, Moderators cannot post their findings! (but they can search!)
"Read More" for a Yoshi Egg found in real life in the city!
The official trailer for Mario Kart Wii is out, and it looks pretty sweet! Hopefully the online runs smoother for me than Super Smash Bros Brawl is. I had a match earlier today with MK and Khadgar and I couldn't get a single attack off, I had about a two second lag!
Anyway "Read More" to check out the trailer and salivate! as Mario Kart is one of the best franchises out there, and in my opinion, the BEST racing franchise 3V4R!
Have you ever wanted to do some sweet Nintendo Fan-Art but couldn't get the letters to look "just right"? Or did you want to print your own T-Shirt that said something like Nintendork? Well, N+ went out looking for a few fonts that will allow you to create the perfect Nintendo themed birthday invitation cards! or anything else that you want to do using the fonts!
Continuum: Comes with three different versions, a heavy, light, and medium build. Use Heavy to get the best effect, and grey in color for an even better match of the official Wii logo.
Gamecuben: Captital letters mimic the "GAMECUBE" portion of the logo, while lowercase letters emulate the "NINTENDO" part of the logo. Type ~ to get the Gamecube icon (like in the banner) Pretendo: This is version 2! Pretendo has been floating around the net for a long time as the best traditional Nintendo Logo font, and many of you probably have it. DELETE the old file and get this one, its a re-edit and looks much nicer! this guy claims to have made it.
All fonts will work with PC and MAC. Just un-zip the pack and take all the ".ttf" files to your font folder in the computer! For more video game fonts visit GameFonts.com (oddly enough i found this site AFTER i compiled these fonts for you)
I+ is a group for those that are interested, developing and curious about discussing independent media such as games, music, movies, literature, and everything else in between.
