Shoppingpenguin's NP Interview

, , , ...

NP Subscriber Profile

Early last month we caught wind that Shoppingpenguin was going to be presented in Nintendo Power with the custom apron by Beeks she won in the Cooking Mama Challenge. We initially thought she was going to be presented in last month's, but found out it was going to be this month, so as I promised here's her interview.

In addition to gaming, subscriber Tori M. loves preparing food--both in Cooking Mama and in real life. She made this stuffed-tomato Cheep Cheep, which won a contest and earned her a custom Cooking Mama embroidered apron! Tori is currently in college, but she's been gaming since the age of eight. "I even attribute my 4.0 in college, in part, to skills I learned from video games, such as problem-solving ability (Resident Evil and Zelda), quick reflexes (Mario), and of course the rewards of hard work and diligence (Harvest Moon)."

The interview didn't mention My Opera or N+, but it's a great interview. Anyone interested in finding out what contest she won that under shouldn't have a hard time finding out. So everyone give Shoppingpenguin a round of applause. She deserves it!

If anyone wants to take a closer look at the scan of her interview you can click on the image provided and it will take you to the photo album with the picture in it.

Our Shoppingpenguin to be Featured in NP

, , , ...

Tori!

N+ Member shoppingpenguin is going to be featured in next month's Nintendo Power with her Cooking Mama Challenge entry Stuffed Tomato Cheep Cheep.

Shoppingpenguin's withholding the information she sent at the request of the NP rep, and won't disclose whether N+ or Opera was mentioned... hmm. I guess we'll have to see, won't we? She sent in information about her contest entry along with the excellent apron made by our own Beeks! Nintendo Power was very interested in her entry (why not?!), and sent her this reply:

Thanks Tori. That's amazing! How would you feel about having us feature both you and your Cheep Cheep in our subscriber profile? If you're interested, we'll need the following things:

  1. A photo of you (preferably with the Cooking Mama apron, but that's not 100% necessary)
  2. If you have a game collection, or magazine collection, or game-related collectibles, it would be nice to have a photo of that as well)
  3. Your first name and last initial (example: Andy M.)
  4. Your age
  5. How long have you been subscribing to NP?
  6. Your favorite game of all time
  7. A small paragraph about your life as a gamer

I know that's a lot to ask, but I think you'd make a great subject for our subscriber profile. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks! Andy M.

Frantically she sent her reply, and you can see her information in the next issue of Nintendo Power! For anyone not subscribed we will post information on her interview as soon as we get it.

Penguin Power

, , , ...

Every now and then, a MyOpera member goes way out of thier way to show thier support for N+
Penguins + is a group created by ShoppingPenguin as a place to ...really enjoy penguins... and share a multitude of references to our beaked little cruisers. But N+ is highlighted quite a bit as the inspiration for creating the group, notice the plus? kicky!
There's competition for Beeks with Penguin Snacks and there's even Nintendo references!

I believe that all penguins love the Wii. It hasn't been tested yet, but because of the unique motion sensing controller, it is now possible for penguins to play video games by holding the controller in their beaks. This was previously impossible, because flippers (while great for swimming) are terrible for holding traditional gaming controllers.

I volunteer myself to judge all snacks. Please email all sumbissions to MyStomach@DotEdsBody.eat
I meant to post about this sooner, but now that it's been a while, there will be more black and white to enjoy!
