Oh man. I can feel it. The mural's completion is at hand. Just one or two more days! I've
updated the
photo album with more
pictures to
view and comment on! No, seriously! The total time worked on this project over a span of 11 visits is a little more than 65 hours--and it's still not done. It's been a lot of work, and also a lot of fun--this
Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wall Mural.
The roster of the mural is Luigi, Sonic, Yoshi, Pikachu, Samus, Mario, Olimar, Kirby, Toon Link, Mr. Game & Watch, Meta Knight, Wario, Pit, and Charizard--all lunging towards a Smash Ball in the top center of the wall. And yes, before I took the job I made it clear that Wario had to be on the wall.
Be sure to check back with N+ to see further updates on this time-consuming project.

Yes. An update! This awesome mural
album chronicles my progress on a Super Smash Bros.
Brawl Wall Mural! Again, this update could have come sooner if I had actually owned a camera. The newest updates feature day 7 and day 8, where Samus is finally completed after 3 days of work, Toon Link, Mr. Game & Watch, Meta Knight, and Wario all join the brawl! Check out the
album, make some comments, or critiques!
The final roster of the mural will be Luigi, Sonic, Yoshi, Pikachu, Samus, Mario, Olimar, Kirby, Toon Link, Mr. Game & Watch, Meta Knight, Wario, Pit, and Charizard--all lunging towards a Smash Ball in the top center of the wall. And yes, before I took the job I made it clear that Wario had to be on the wall.

The MK has been busy. I apologize--it's been a mixture of work, school, awesome games (everyone needs to get Okami right now), and a new project! I've been commissioned by a super-awesome customer friend from my store to paint a Super Smash Bros. Brawl Wall Mural. Having never really painted before, I still said YES because it's a bitchin' idea for a mural. I posted an album with the project's progress so far--though it starts on the beginning and end of Day 6. Could've been earlier if I actually owned a camera.
Day 1 started with Sonic and Luigi. The next day Yoshi and Pikachu joined the brawl--but I didn't finish their shading. Day 3, Yoshi and Pikachu were finished up, Luigi was finally given sideburns and feet, and I started on Mario, Kirby, and Olimar. Day 4 was dedicating to fixing issues with other characters, and spending hours cursing out Kirby. Day 5 resulted in Olimar and Mario's completion and the beginning of Samus, the train-wreck. The rest, my friends, is in the album! Take a look! Make comments!
The final roster of the mural will be Luigi, Sonic, Yoshi, Pikachu, Samus, Mario, Olimar, Kirby, Toon Link, Captain Falcon, Meta Knight, Wario, Pit, and Charizard--all lunging towards a Smash Ball in the top center of the wall. And yes, before I took a job I made it clear that Wario had to be on the wall.
Be sure to check back with N+ to see further updates on this time-consuming project.

Hey guys. Not to disappoint anyone, but unfortunately Tuesday night Brawl isn't happening anymore. The mods are finding it hard to have the time for it. But if you guys want to get together among yourselves and brawl, the official Brawl Friend Code thread is always open for you folks to trade in.
But one thing we are sure, is that there will be a weekly Mario Kart night on Wii. That way sea gets a chance to kick our butts.
In the meantime... Happy Brawling!

WiiDark has found a site that works with ALL operating systems (MAC, LINUX, WINDOWS, etc...) which will convert any of the screenshots you have taken in Super Smash Brothers Brawl and saved to an SD card, and convert them into JPG files for use in the computer world! It's a pretty sweet site!
Snapshot Decrypter will allow you to open the picture files from your SD card straight through the internet. It is recomended that right after you upload the files and convert them that you save the file yourself, because the server space is limited where it will be uploaded, and you shot will most likely be deleted. BUT HEY! why not put them in you own Opera gallery, then share with us your silly shots! N+ has started it's own
Smash & Grab Gallery, and Fancy Falcon is
NOT here to "kick it off"!
You can
always never find this website permanently in
our links section too!
I found my smash pictures ".bin" files under ...

I was serious in this review. It does not reflect the views of the other moderators of N+ (except for lutherjw, he agrees), these are my own thoughts and feelings about the game. It is crap.
What is it?
The latest in the highly popular Smash Bros. franchise, Brawl is a fighting game featuring many popular characters from the Nintendo Universe.
How does it play?
I would assume that everyone here is used the the mechanics of the Smash Bros. franchise. If you aren't, go out and buy yourself Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo64 and educate yourself. Then buy Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo Gamecube and educate yourself some more. Then convince yourself that there are only two installments to the Smash Bros. series and forget that Brawl exists. Seriously. The image to the right is an artists rendering of what I want to do to Sakurai now. Unfortunately I have a normal sized fist so it wouldn't be as effective. The main focal points of the game, Adventure Mode and Online Play, are incredibly weak. Adventure Mode should be renamed 'Walk around and unlock characters Mode'. It's boring and lame. Online Play is crap. It's laggy. Very very laggy. So laggy that at one point I thought that I was using a dial-up connection. Then I remembered that this isn't 2002 and the speed should be wicked fast. But was it? NO. NO IT WAS NOT. The option to play 'With Anyone' only works about 40% of the time, and when it does you feel as if a bear has just walked up to your Wii and punched it in the crotch. (Haha. Wii. Crotch. Haha.) The characters are all totally lame. The only exception would have to be Toon Link, and he has a stupid girly name. At least be called the Hero of Winds or something. Jeez.
N+ Summary
Game: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Developed by: Nintendo
Genre: Fighting
Players: 1-4
Release Date: Out now
Supports WFC: Yes
Video available: No
N+ Points
N+ Toon Link is mildly acceptable as a fighter.
N+ I don't have to wonder what it's like to be tortured anymore.
N- Points
N- The game totally sucks.
N- Online Play is like trying to rob a blind man but then finding out that it's really only a man wearing sunglasses. He then proceedes to break your leg by wrapping it around a car bumper.
N- Adventure Mode is stupid and boring, should be called Sleep Mode.
N- Other people like it, so it has a moronic fanbase.
N- It has a fanbase.

N+ Update - Due to circumstances beyond my control (my mom), I can't play Brawl anymore today.
So lutherjw will (probably) still be online hosting brawls. If you feel like it. I'll still be in the chat room though.
That's right folks, tonight marks the first of WEEKLY Tuesday Night Brawls here at N+! We will be fighting from NOW until 10pm EST. So for FOUR HOURS, then we'll call it a night. Has everyone traded friend codes in the Brawl thread? Good!
Now get on Wi-Fi, get into the N+ chat room, and let's Brawl! (Instructions on getting into the chat room can be found at http://my.opera.com/Nplus/blog/chat - I hope to see everyone there!

So, a little game was just released called Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it has an online mode. So we figured, why not have a weekly Brawl night? Every Tuesday night lutherjw and I will be hooked up to the Nintendo WFC, eagerly awaiting some opponents. If you would like to participate and have a good time fighting as your favorite Nintendo characters, then head on over to the forum thread I have set up, and post your friend code.
We will be online any time between 6pm and 10pm EST.
Please note, there will undoubtedly be some hidden characters, so remember that. We can't help it if anything gets spoiled for you.
We will be chatting between matches in the N+ chat room. It'll be loads of fun, can't wait to play you guys.

Today's update is a bunch of screenshots that sent in to Sakurai from players, and he has hand-picked 99 of them to show off at the Dojo. I have placed them all after the break, and some look really good.
Note: This will be the last Dojo Update you see at N+. We will no longer continue posting these, because the game comes out in two days and there really isn't any point. If you would like to continue seeing Dojo Update, I think that Sakurai may continue updating the Dojo. Thanks.

Today's update is a list of the items in Brawl. There are 49 of them with descriptions and pictures and everything, so I won't post them here. However, if you would like to see them, go to the Smash Bros. Dojo. NOTE: This is the full list of items in the game, so there are some spoilers (if you call items spoilers), so click the link at your own risk.

Donkey Kong has a bunch of meteor smashes. Seriously, there's like three of them. His Standard Special Move - Giant Punch is also pretty awesome. Charge it up, let loose on your opponents face, and hope it's a one hit KO. You can make an awesome combo by using his Giant Punch along with his Side Special Move - Head Butt. Perform Head Butt and smash your opponent into the ground. Then Giant Punch them while they are stuck. Sounds easy, but it really isn't. There are some factors that make it a hard technique. First off, the amount of damage taken is proportional to the amount of time spent buried, if they’re in the air, you won’t be able to bury them, and it’s harder to hit with the Head Butt than it is with the Giant Punch.
Remember, you can charge up DK's punch and use it when you want. Hit the jump for screenshots.Read more...

When you are playing modes like Classic and Adventure Mode, and you die, you have the option of continuing. However, you will have to pay a small price in order to do so. In Classic Mode, if you would like to continue, your score gets cut in half, your score gains a single point (to keep track of the number of times you continued), and you forfeit a number of coins. Each difficulty has a different coin cost. Easy - 10 Coins, Normal - 20 Coins, Hard - 30 Coins, Very Hard - 50 Coins, and Intense is 100 Coins. The coins we are talking about are the ones you use to bet with in Spectator Mode. Which means that they are the very same coins that you would use for the Coin Launcher. If you are dedicated to beating the game on Intense, make sure that you have a large amount of coins. If you run out of coins, you will get a Game Over.
If you would like to continue on Adventure Mode, you can choose either 'Get Up', to go right back to the game, or 'Return to Map' and, well, return to the map. If you choose 'Get Up', you will lose one half of the Stickers and Trophies you’ve just collected (items obtained from orange boxes and CDs are guaranteed to stay in your collection), you will resume play from the beginning of the step (the unit of area from one door to another) at which you died, and the amount of coins you get for beating the stage slightly decreases. If you Return to Map, you won't start the stage over (obviously), but the effects are basically the same. Except that the loss of coins is greatly increased. So you're probably better off just getting back up!
However, if you return to the map you can save and reselect your difficulty.
