US Supreme Court: Video Games protected by 1st Amendment

, ,

USA! USA! This may be a bit late but the news is kicky-sweet no matter when you read it.

Recently the United States Supreme Court (the big one) finally put an important matter to rest, video games get the same first amendment protection as other media like books, movies, and music! The ruling was 7-2 in favor of freedom over restriction.

Download the Supreme Court Decision and read more for the full story pulled from the ESA...

Catch Darkrai +Update

, , , ...

Darkrai, If you havent already got him through CHEATING or using a glitch in V.1 of the Japanese game, or by getting him as a trade over Pokemon GTC (most likely originaly obtained by cheating) - Will officially be available in North America at Toys"R"Us store between 12:noon - 4:PM on May,31 - June,1.

Make sure you have Diamond and or Pearl, one open spot on your belt and have completed the elite 4. This is a mystery gift event, and will not unlock the Island. He will also not be able to be traded over WiFi. Darkrai is only legitimately available through Nintendo promotions like this one, and can not normally be found in the game. Chances are this is the only event to give him away.

N+ Update: Darkrai Info

Item: Enigma Berry
Level: 50
EXP: 156250
Ball: Cherish Ball
(thanks Ace for the official ball name)

Also, does anyone happen to have a Legitimate Deoxys? He's the only event-only pokemon I don't have so far!

Wii Component Cable Deal

, , , ...

After posting the bitGenerations post below, I was doing some additional shopping and found a sweet deal: 3rd party Wii Component Cables for $9.99!? yes and only $3.40 shipping. So for under $14 US you can score some component goodness. While these do not appear to have gold contacts, they still earned starstarstarstarstar's from all 36 reviewers.

Loyal readers may remember when I got mine from Nintendo (for $40:left: ); the difference is better in all games I own, Virtual Console games even appear richer (thanks to the progressive scan and no interlaced black lines).

I'm glad I ordered mine when I did, having them last month was worth the extra $26+, but for those of you worried about price, there is no excuse now. Ha, it's like getting a bitGenerations game free, scared now I'm not so happy.

And Nick, if you're reading this, you should return your $60 component cables from Best Buy.
