September 2011 N+ Banner: Starfox 64

, , , ...

So this month, I decided to make the banner in honor of the release of Starfox 64 3DS. However, I decided to make it more in the style of the 64 version then the 3DS version. So I drew all the N+ moderators in 64 polygon style! We are all on a mission to stop the evil Andross (*coughDustinWilsoncough*) from taking over the Lylat System!

This months banner definately took the most time out of all the banners Ive done thus far. It was also quite the learning experience! I used a program called GIMP to draw this instead of Photoshop. For the most part it did the job fine... I just didn't like how it doesn't have the same shortcuts and hotkeys that Photoshop has. But for the most part it was a good program.

The wallpaper will be uploaded shortly, but here are all the moderator Starfox Portraits!

It's on like .com - Donkey Kong's "Hoard of Hype"

, , , ...

Donkey Kong's latest prospect undoubtedly seeks to eclipse the buzz surrounding other Wii titles announced at E3 this year (although perhaps only because it is one of the last to be released this year). I've certainly heard more hype about this game than I'd expected, with even Game Informer predicting that it will drastically outperform the original. As if to add jet fuel to the inferno of anticipation that already surrounds this title, Nintendo has included the following tidbit of information in it's latest "Weekly Downloads" email circular:

N+ Theme: Classic Gold

, , , ...

GAH! February, if it was a normal month and not only 27 days long this N+ artwork would have been completed on the first - but it's not! Thankfully I was able to grind it out while I was supposed to be sleeping between work shifts. The theme is inspired by Gold and Silver from the Gameboy generation of Pokemon games, and is here to celebrate the remakes Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver that are coming out this month! This month also happens to be my birthday, so it's a pretty cool gift to get a few days before I turn 24.

As you can see in the header art, the Johto region is a really colorfully diverse area, I guess while I was playing the game I attributed it to changing seasons from summer to fall, maybe it's not the reason, but I decided to represent that here. You can see the wave of golden autumn washing over the green of summer. I have included 4 landmarks from the Johto region too, can you dorks name them all?

For a full wallpaper, check out the gallery!

New Pokemon RPG in the works?

, ,

According to Serebii, the The Official Japanese Pokemon Site has just released some new info about the 5th generation games. From the site:

The official site has just updated with some details stating that a brand new Pokémon game series, perhaps a fifth generation is scheduled for release on the Nintendo DS in 2010 in Japan. Further details on this game series have yet to be announced but the site has stated that it will be an RPG and the press release hinted that new Pokémon were in it. Will this series be a brand new series or the beginning of the fifth generation? We'll bring more as and when Nintendo releases information

So if this is true, then we could have new Pokemans coming next year! bigsmile What would you guys like to see improved or changed in the 5th generation games?

TGS 09: Okamiden Trailer, Footage, and Website

, , , ...

This week's Tokyo Game Show has been great for fans of the Okami franchise (it's a franchise now!). Capcom has released a brand new, adorable, trailer (above) for Okamiden, the DS sequel to Okami, while a couple of media outlets have posted off-screen footage of the game in action (available after the break).

Capcom has also launched the official Japanese website for Okamiden, featuring artwork, screenshots, and video.

We at N+, like everyone else with brains, absolutely loved the original Okami, and can't wait for the sequel, so we'll be sure to keep you updated with any news we hear!

They even have unlockable items on the page! o_O Yup...

Just remember! The page is age-restricted! Click here to be transported into a scary Himalayan setting...

Hanafuda N+ In January

, , , ...

[/IMG]Hey everyone, I hope you all had a Happy New Year! I spent mine with a big bottle of non-alcoholic wine and all my neighbors in my Animal Crossing town of Rosewood. We watched fireworks light up the sky and even popped some fireworks ourselves.

N+ gets it's monthly make-over and this month I designed our header to reflect Nintendo's Hanafuda Playing Cards! Haha! You can now get these cards via Club Nintendo in North America, or if you live anywhere else in the world, you always have ebay. I'm not sure if Japan has these cards in their Club Nintendo anymore. Anyway, a wallpaper has not been finished, but keep your eyes peeled, I am working on it - times just got a little rough this past month for me is all. As a side note, the "spade N+ logo" item is an edit of one of Nintendo's original logos during one of their early stages. wink It wasn't their first, but it was one of the first. Of course the "+" wasn't there, and the letter "n" was smaller (you can now find that logo on the "Master of Illusion" game box art for DS). I hope you enjoy the new theme!

Happy New Year to you all, and everyone here at N+ sincerly thanks you for your support!

- Seagull and the N+ team cheers

, , , ...

Hey everyone, it was great year at N+, we had a lot of fun, a lot of games, a lot of news, and a TON of members come our way this year.

Here's looking toward 2009 with higher hopes, maybe N+ can continue to grow and get more featurific! Oh, and by the way did you know that now you can type www.NPlusNews.com into your browser and you will reach us?! Yeah, give a big thanks to LutherJW for that nice addition. Now it should be easier than ever to share our website with your friends via word of mouth wink

As per usual New Year's wouldn't be complete without Animal Crossing somehow making a big deal about it, so if you have Animal Crossing on the DS or Wii, get in there and visit Tortimer! There is super sweet New Year's music, and a big countdown. Have fun! What are your New Year's resolutions? Play more games? Play LESS games? Tell us in comments!
