Japan Gets Another Goodie

, , , , , , ,

How did enplusser Spook put it? "all 'good news' these past few weeks have been for Japan content only" - yeah, that sounds about right.

Hot off the heels of his comment on the Animal Crosing: Wii DLC news, here's another one for the land of the rising sun "Super Smash Bros 64" is headed to the Virtual Console in January. This should be a warm up for the rest of the world to expect that sometime in the future this title may be appearing on our Virtual Console lists.

Matthew 28. December 2008, 18:23

Lol wow my 64 version died or something...

Spook 29. December 2008, 15:33

I never owned an "Ultra" 64, so I never owned Smash Bros. back then... (Sorry, but Mario in 3D just made me dizzy...so I passed on the console while I got adjusted to 3D).
I've played a few 64 games this year and yeah... they do feel outdated (maybe because THEY ARE?), especially with the blurry textures P:
I WANT KILLER INSTINCT BACK!!! :'(

Matthew 29. December 2008, 19:55

lol Speaking of Killer Instinct, I read in Gi that you could scan these cards and unlock Orchid and Tusk. Thing is, it was for the game Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise...

Tony G. Martinez Mora 29. December 2008, 20:50

i remember Smash Bros,Mario 64,Ocarina and Majora's,Shadow man,Nightmare Creatures,Hybrid Haven(nice rpg),TheWorld is not enough(better than goldeneye),Perfect Dark(best mission story and multiplayer),killer instinct.
and FF XIII!!!?huh?

Tony G. Martinez Mora 29. December 2008, 20:55

i can't believe the psp has more power than the 64,but still a classic
oh yeah forgot to mention Star Fox(beast)
I had the expansion pak,it came when i got Perfect Dark,but don't remember,probably got it when i got Majora's Mask(awesome game).
I had the rumble pak for Ocarina, and the gameboy color adapter.

Tony G. Martinez Mora 29. December 2008, 20:57

Is there a possibility that fans donate to Nintendo so they can bring old games to VC.
If it's,i would

Anton 29. December 2008, 23:32

you can always start a petition

but with alot of games there are copyright issues that have surfaced since those ages. Rare being owned by Microsoft is a big one, What do you do with James bond Liscencing, when Produced by Rare, published by Nintendo, and whos James Bond character is owned by (I think) MGM studios, While the film Goldeneye is an Eon Production...

Nintendo can't just plop a game right on there sometimes.

Charles Schloss 30. December 2008, 00:13

I had the expansion pack,it came when i got Dinkey Kong 64 and it still in my N^$ as we speak

NewTonyIc the psp has more power than the N64 because technology has evolved so much the things you can do has increased

Tony G. Martinez Mora 30. December 2008, 01:33

yep Donkey Kong 64 was beast, and still is
yet i didn't get the last part of your writing, was it sarcastic?
and if it was i say..."hm,hm....yes i get it"

Captain that was nice thanks
ay ay...capitan
i believe Perfect Dark was from RARE and MGM(not sure)

Charles Schloss 30. December 2008, 03:35

Over time tech has gotten better so game consoles can be made with more power

Tony G. Martinez Mora 30. December 2008, 06:03

Chas you are killing it

Charles Schloss 30. December 2008, 15:16

?

Tony G. Martinez Mora 30. December 2008, 16:04

Matthew 30. December 2008, 16:41
