Kirby Super Star Ultra

With so many adventures waiting to be unlocked, there’ll never be a dull moment as you run, float, copy enemies and use Helpers to fight the likes of King Dedede and Meta Knight. On top of a slew of new adventures, the original modes found in the beloved Super NES® game, Kirby Super Star™, are all here with updated graphics and fully rendered movie scenes.

There are also three new touch-screen-controlled mini-games that you can play with up to three friends via DS Download Play—Kirby Card Swipe, Kirby on the Draw and Snack Tracks. Game storyline: There are different plots for each of the games, ranging from Kirby’s fight to stop King Dedede from stealing all the food in Dream Land to Meta Knight’s quest to train for the ultimate battle. While most of the modes are traditional adventures, several of them, like Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby, are quick mini-games. How to progress through the game: Run, float and fight your way through the adventure games as Kirby®, gobbling up enemies as you go. Kirby can inhale enemies and spit them out as stars, but the main game play comes from swallowing foes and copying their abilities, then using the abilities to defeat other foes and advance past obstacles. In other games, you race King Dedede for food, compete in a punching contest or even adventure as Meta Knight. Characters: Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight and many enemies, both new and old. Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Besides his usual method of copying the abilities of foes, Kirby can also create Helpers out of Copy Abilities—these guys will fight alongside you and be controlled by the CPU or another player.

Oh goody! I've always loved this game since it was released for the SNES. I still remember the magazine ad. The one where kirby was in between two gram crackers like a marshmallow with a badazz facial expression. Hmm..well the graphics are updated..but it seems like the music wasn't. But than again, i've always loved the music in Kirby Super Star. Especially the music from "The Great Cave Offensive".

I know this is going to be fun...but I still can't get over the fact that it is YET ANOTHER REMAKE "with updated graphics" and new minigames (yeah, the let's-pack-everything-with-minigames-instead-of-building-a-solid-new-game fever is still present).

Man, Squeak Squad wasn't good enough for you? What about Canvas Curse? Canvas Curse was AWESOME. Two solid Kirby titles were created. Nobody can win!

After Canvas Curse, everyone was like, "Yeah, that was great. But it still wasn't Kirby-Kirby."

So they make Squeak Squad--a traditional type of Kirby game. "It was pretty good, but it ain't no Super Star."

Okay, so they are bringing Super Star, "Why can't they make anything new?! Sick of these remakes."

I'm really looking forwards to some portable Super Star.

MK: I didn't say I didn't enjoy those games... And actually any new games in any series I try NOT to compare to past editions (if I did, I'd definitely find something that's different... I mean...that's the point!), BUT, you have to admit that lately, these 'exciting, new releases' are mostly remakes! And the fact that some games focus more on the MINI games than on the actual game itself is getting old...
And while I probably will be getting this (and surely enjoy it), it still leaves you with the fact that IT IS A REMAKE.

Just remember that in of itself Kirby Super Star contained... remakes. That doesn't make the release of it any less awesome bigsmile
