Mario & Luigi RPG 3 KO's Street Figther IV

, ,

Well, at least sales-wise in Japan. Numbers released this week reveal that, although Street Fighter IV was highly anticipated, it could not beat Nintendo's plumbing duo on release. Mario & Luigi RPG 3, which is not slated for a Western release yet, sold an impressive 193,000 units in its first week, while Street Fighter IV saw 124,000 combined units fly off the shelves. Now, by all means, these are not meager numbers, but let's also consider that M&L 3 is a single-platform game, while SF IV was released on multiple platforms.

On an also impressive note (well, not soooo impressive since that seems to be the case lately...but yet worth noting), most titles in the Jap's Top 30 outside of the Top 10 are either Wii or DS titles; only numbers 11 and 12 are PSP titles. Neat, huh?
