Motion Plus in Next Zelda a Possibility

, , , ,

Remember the 'gag clause' they put into Miyamoto's contract? Well, Nintendo should review that. Shiggy has done it again and went on to 'spill the beans' on an interview granted to GameLife, stating that the next Legend of Zelda game for the Wii will in fact make use of Motion Plus for a more realistic experience.

n this (installment of the series), we're using MotionPlus to make you feel much more like you're actually fighting while holding a sword in your hand. In the previous game, you aimed at things by pointing at the screen, but this time we'll use MotionPlus to create a much more convenient targeting system and a more pleasurable playing experience.

Now, I get how Motion Plus could help swordplay, and call me paranoid if you like, but how would you improve AIMING by removing pointing at the screen and using the add-on instead?

Nintendo, however, has yet to make an official announcement on this, so things are a little unclear as to whether the game will only use Motion Plus as a complement or if it will be mandatory to be able to play it, so stay tuned...maybe the announcement will come at next year's E3 (boom, baby! P:).

Even with a "gag clause" controlled "leaks" can still happen, in order to create buzz/hype

A new Zelda or Mario game can create a buzz/hype

They can't replace aiming, but they sure can replace bow aiming and make it WiiSports like

this just proves that the people can appeal and influence Nintendo.

Well Intel probably heard of our buzz hoping for Zelda to have motion plus capabilities, and one time they didn't wanted to add it,but now they do.

Purdi 18. November 2009, 10:03

When didn't they want it? URL, please.

What buzz hoping for Zelda to have motion plus capabilities?

NewTonyIc 18. November 2009, 17:30

Well I don't have the facts now with me,but some of us wanted motion plus capabilities on the new Zelda, and at that time N didn't have in mind implementing it,but it took a while for that decision.
