Although he's got the record right now, it's also a fact that the score-keeping network keeps receiving submissions and this record has changed hands a couple dozen times already, so who knows how long this record will be in LeCroy's hands (maybe you can do better? ). The rules are simple: submit your score with just one life or until you finish the game, you can't go through walls you can't usually go through, you may respawn enemies for points, and you may re-enter stages ONCE and as long as you exit trough the secondary goals.
Second place is currently held by Dennis Weaver from Columbus, Ohio with a 3,162,030 score and the last place is held by Bobby Brady (who should feel ashamed by now) from Detroit, Michigan with a meager 279,020 score (I'm sure I'm not even close to that
