Nintendo To Release Black Wii This Summer

I have to apologize for that title ... It is happening, but only in Japan (for now).

When Nintendo first unveiled the Wii in 2004/2005, they showed a variety of colors: black, white, red, green, blue, purple, and more. Now, three years after launch, Nintendo is starting to make good on that promise with the release of a black system and controllers in Japan only. Priced the same as a normal white system, the black Wii will ship with a black Wii Remote and black nunchuk, and black classic controllers will also be available. The system will launch on August 1, 2009.

Nintendo also announced a red DSi for Japan, which I'm choosing to ignore because: 1) they release new colors like every week and 2) I STILL DON'T HAVE A FRIGGIN WHITE ONE. Ahem.

No word yet on either of these systems coming to other regions.

y r they do it now they suppose to do it when they started in the beginning, cuz my tv set is completely black and the wii is white, they no mach.

It's only a matter of time until the US gets that black, glossy box of happiness. I really like the look of the black Wii. With the DS, it was a bit of a problem, since it's a fingerprint magnet, but the Wii isn't handled all that much, so the gloss will look great! I'm sold on it. I'll probably sell my white Wii just to get this one!

Just one tiny problem. OK, it looks cool. OK, you buy one. OK, you can transfer your save files to the other Wii. Wait! You have to e-mail aaaaall of your friends and have them change your Friend Code (because your console will have a different one, no doubt). But wait! You have to e-mail them AGAIN to have them change the same freakin' Friend Code they had for Mario Kart... and again for each and every game with online capabilities. Anyone else seeing how obsolete these friend codes are?! Say it with us, Nintendo: UNIFIED ACCOUNTS!

Im agreed with u, but u can't transfer games that have wi-fi connection and channels. U lose the FC. is like u r starting in 0 well most everything only u can transfer games that don't have wi-fi

that was what I said. The black wii lock more Awesome than the white It mach with my tv set p: I like black systems than others colors

It's amazing how the Wii looks more serious in black.
They should have released it in black first, as the codenamed "Revolution" was supposed to be.

supposed to be is very wrong. it was honestly code named. Like the DS as Nitro, gamecube as Dolphin, N64 as Ultra64, etc.. etc...
