It's nice to see a third-party game do this well on a Nintendo console. This time it is Scribblenauts, 5th Cell's innovative and ambitious game for the Nintendo DS, that achieves a blockbuster status: it has sold over a million copies.
WB Interactive gloated...I mean, reported... that they are very pleased with how well Scribblenauts has been received and how well it is doing in sales (and the 50+ awards it's received so far is not bad, either). Apparently, the game where you can materialize virtually anything you can write and is not copyrighted, has sold over one million units worldwide after its release in September '09.
We are extremely pleased with the sales of Scribblenauts and credit the game’s innovation and wide appeal in making it a hit with gamers of all skill levels. Scribblenauts is one of our strong original brands, and we look forward to bringing consumers more quality gaming experiences as part of our portfolio game strategy. - Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
