Another Brawl Delay?!?

, , , ,

Yes, it seems that due to complications during the games completion, they've pushed the release date back to Sunday, March 9th, 2008. Here is what Sakurai has to say about it:

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

It's a shame, but that just means it'll be even better when it comes out!

I heard about this and was really upset. I've been waiting sooooo long. But the other news that I heard about was that the new 'Worms' game for the wii will not have online play capabilities. Is anyone else out there as big a fan of the 'Worms' games as me? It is a sad day for Wii owners.

Has Nintendo gone into Hype-r-mode? (pun intended)

And if March 9th is for the U.S. what is the European release date then? Somewhere in 2009?

Maybe BT will have fixed my phone line by the time it gets a European release...

WTF!!!???
Yet another delay?! Not fair!!! Well, they better release A PRETTY DARN GREAT NEARLY PERFECT game... so disappointing; I was already making plans to 'premiere' the game at home with my friends :frown:

PS: What about the people who already payed for the game in pre-ordering? Do they get interest on the fifty bucks they've paid in advance (months before, now...)?! Noooooo.... do they get a discount?! noooo!

Seriously... I don't care about delays anymore since I read that Microsoft had to cut down on Windows Vista just to make it ready for launch date. And I haven't heard a single person I know saying good stuff about Vista (I'm not using it). If the delay makes the game better, I'd rather get a good game a little bit too late than a unfinished game a little bit too early. :troll:

Yeah, but just like Vista, which, by the way, was ALSO delayed a few times before its launch, by delaying something so much you create so much expectation that you run the risk of falling short...
Anyway, I hope this ISN'T the case and Nintendo delivers a jolly good game... but you have to admit... after all these delays and waiting periods... THEY BETTER deliver a GREAT game...

Yeah, that's my one and only expectation. That the game will be as good as said/shown or better. Otherwise, I'm disappointed. I hope the delay is because they will add more characters or other awesome stuff to really surprice us all. They better have a very good reason!

"PS: What about the people who already payed for the game in pre-ordering? Do they get interest on the fifty bucks they've paid in advance (months before, now...)?! Noooooo.... do they get a discount?! noooo!"

Why? They are guaranteed a copy of the game that will probably be sold out... It's just like concert tickets. You pay for the ticket sometimes half a year before the actual concert.
